One of many differences:
2020, when ACC allows them into a conference so they have games to play enabling them a chance for a playoff.
Notre Dame takes our spot in playoff.
Did we gripe? Sure. Did we cry foul and opt out of a bowl, feeling entitled?

Once again, ND didn't take our spot. The BIG10 and Ohio St did.

ND was 10-1, we were 8-1 and Ohio St was 6-0. Just based on those records, which 2 do you take?

Can't it be both? The thing about Notre Dame in 2020 was they got absolutely dominated in the ACC championship game 34-10 and didn't slip from the last playoff spot. A&M was clearly getting better as the season wore on.

And then BYU slips in their rankings this weekend, but Alabama doesn't (neither game was close).

It's just one of those data points that reinforces inconsistency from the CFP committee and highlights selective favoritism. Notre Dame and Ohio State both definitely benefited from favor that year.

Nd was ranked 4 and we were ranked 5, that's why they took our spot….so by your logic we should have been 3, and since nd was 4 they took ohio states spot????? Your memory may be fuzzy from the vid 19

Memory is just fine. Ohio St shouldn't have been ranked in the first place. The big 10 had to change their rules to make them eligible for the Big10 champ game.

But it really doesn't matter because no one was beating Bama that year anyway.

Remember it is was scumbag Kiffin who chickened out on playing the Ags in December of 2020 because of "covid." Had we won that game and been 9-1 we may have been in.

The what-if scenarios are the worst though and should not be entertained.

And it's not worth speculating on, plus A&M was the side who postponed the original game date because of fake ass Rona.

The ultimate indisputable fact in the whole matter is that Kiffin is undeniably a narcissistic **** licker.

What still bothers me is…the media narrative was that ND had "done enough" during the regular season, beating Clemson WITHOUT Trevor Lawrence. Then in the ACC championship when Clemson has Trevor Lawrence back, ND gets blown out. Showing without a doubt that the ND "win" earlier in the season was a greatly overrated game.

ND should have fallen. Not just because they got blown out in the championship game, but showing that the win they had earlier this season was not worth the credit they were being given.

Yep, and then Ohio State lost to Bama by the exact same score as we did. That score being the whole reason we didn't get into the playoff.

Basically had we opted out of the bama game because we heard a sneeze in the locker room we'd have been in the playoffs.
