Then OM should have not released them from their contracts.
Or these guys could have told Kiffin they were staying until the season finished. Or they could have at least been up front from the start like Klein.
There were lots of ways this could have worked out but they managed to find the sleaziest one.
I can't wait for them to poach all the OM talent to come to LSU.
There were a lot of moving parts to this. Kiffin has a standard MO of taking coaches and recruits with him when he leaves. He did the same when he abruptly quit Tennessee. He's not the kind of guy to tell his staff that he would love to have them at his new gig if the new coach doesn't retain them and keep him posted. He'll still talk to other coaches since he needs to fill his staff but stay in touch. Just not way he rolls.
But what started it all was Kiffin insisting he would coach Ole Miss through their playoff run, which Ole Miss told him they could not wait that long for a coaching search, so no we can't allow that. Kiffin got pissed and tried to leverage Ole Miss by suggesting Ole Miss may not even make it to the playoffs if the Committee took a dim view of Ole Miss losing most of their coaching staff who would leave with him.
So it became a d*** measuring contest between Kiffin and Ole Miss. It was stupid, childish, selfish and incredibly short-sighted.
