Only 3 away games…. They shouldn't be considered for the playoffs with this scheduling imbalance.

Im not sure even an undefeated record against that schedule merits a top 12 rank.

3 true road games. A bunch of ****ty teams. They shouldn't even have a route to a playoff slot with that competition

They better go undefeated, because an 11-1 record with that pile of **** looks like they will be ranked 13th.

Nope, they will be ranked #3 or higher to begin the season. They lose to Miami and drop to #7 like we did.

If I was on the playoff committee, I would be doing my best to make sure they did not start off any better than the #20 spot. I would then push to slowly adjust as necessary. There is no way they would break into the top 15 before the final week of the season.

Other teams need to sue, this is horse ***** HTF made this deal? Those ****ers aren't anymore special than any of the other 135 D1 FBS teams.

I find it hard to believe any opposing program is ok with this agreement.

How did they manage to get only 3 road games and get USC to play at ND again vs at USC in 2026?

7 home
3 true road
Wiscy @ Lambeau
Navy @ Foxborough

And a guaranteed ticket for top 12. This says more about how weak the NCAA powers that be are than anything else. The moment they re-do the playoffs to 16 they've got to hold ND's feet to the fire.
NCAA does not produce or control the playoff.

What does this teach to everyone else?
Throw a tantrum like a toddler and mom and dad will give in?

The entitlement mentality is maddening.
Might even be worse than t.u.'s

**** Notre Dame

Nah, the Longhorn Network will always make the sips that champion.

NBC wouldn't hold that contract for decades if it didn't make money.

They threw trash on the field and cried...so to speak.

USCw told ND to eff off for a few years. Cancels future games for the next few years.

Some people not happy about that.

Autobids are never going away.

People need to realize that and stop whining about them
P4 Champions get in (and really, it really should be p2, but that's not the next few years). There is your autobid. No byes. No g5.

Computer ranks 1-16.

Done.

(That Josh Pate dude (who I don't particularly like) had a good point about the g5. He argued that the days of a Boise State are gone. The second a g5 player looks good, they good scooped up into a major conference team. And, the coach gets scooped as well. The idea of a Cinderella is just not really possible in today's nil/portal. Account for them by saying that if they have sustained success, they can join a p4 conference).

Since we only have 4 "power conferences," this year's disaster could have been prevented by having just four autobids. G5 already has an automatic admission. That's enough.

Well next year you will have each of the so called "Power 4" champs getting an autobid,, plus 1 more autobid, along with Notre Dame getting in if in the top 12!

There shouldn't be any auto bids. Just take the top 12 and be done with it

This is not new. All the P5 commishes agreed to it last year.

And how will ND be ranked in the top 12 with a crappy schedule? Those calling for a boycott of playing ND do have a point. No one is forcing ND to remain an indy affiliated with the ACC. Some years the ACC doesn't stink for most of their teams but this year they did with a five loss conference champion.

ND has had special rules just for them for decades but there is no guarantee those special rules will always work in their favor.

USC not playing them will hurt.

When they finish 11-1, they will finish in the top 12

And BYU finished ahead of USC the last two years.

Keyshawn is right. USC is afraid to lose late in the year. Strategy wise, it makes sense for USC

it appears they are fibbing about not knowing of the Irish special provision.

And here is article from last year talking about it.

Quote:

This past spring, CFP leaders the 10 conference commissioners and Notre Dame's athletic director re-evaluated the format when they agreed on a new six-year extension that begins with the 2026 playoff. They didn't settle on a format, instead only agreeing to protections that guarantee (1) the five highest-ranked champions an automatic berth, (2) the field to be 12 or 14 teams in size and (3) Notre Dame to receive an at-large bid if it is ranked inside the top 12 or 14, depending on the field size.

If they don't reward strength of schedule, this is what happens. Not sure what folks expect.

Why are we even worried about NDs. schedule next year. We laid an egg this year and that's all that matters.
