Michigan for years has shown itself to be an athletic department out of control. There has to be a punishment for this from the NCAA....

Should be a 4 year postseason ban from bowls and CFP.....

They should force them to hire Deion Sanders to a 6 year contract for punishment.

The thought of that send shivers down SMU alumni. Worse than the death penalty!

Punish Michigan for a moral crime?

What are we, Puritans?

NCAA cannot enforce much of anything these days. Not even a show cause, which should be pretty easy fr them to say NO.

But they don't. Understand there are lines in the sands wherein they are out of the biz WRT football.

March Madness is all theirs...currently. They would not be happy to abandon college football authority but cannot stop that when it happens.

Basketball? They OWN the rights to that tournament.

If Penn State didn't get the death penalty after the Sandusky saga, Michigan sure as heck won't.

Good luck.

If this were us, we would be banned from football.

So, other than fire Long Dong Silver and his concubine house-wrecker, what do they need to do?

Blue bloods aren't held accountable for anything. They'll occasionally toss out the death penalty to a lowly SMU to polish a phony sheen of piety. They're not fooling me.

It's like expecting the federal govt or the pharmaceutical industry to do the right thing.

How about all teams on their schedules forfiet the games against them unless they are being paid by ND/Much to play? (applies to both)

Hurts them the most bc they aren't proven.

Should send a message.

They did recieve a $60m fine, vacated wins, and a 4 year bowl ban. But in the 3rd year the B10 struggled for bowl eligibility so the B10 lobbied the NCAA to end the bowl ban 2 years early.

What crime is their former coach in jail for? If it is having a consensual sexual relationship with someone who worked for him, then I cannot believe he is still in jail. Seems like that bail would be relatively low.

Everything points to to assault. I'm thinking he hit someone after getting angry over getting fired

NCAA has made it very clear that no program will ever receive the death penalty again. I'm not sure what more yall are wanting here. Coach has been fired. They'll lose a bunch of recruits and transfers. Punishment served.

IMO, Baylor football under Briles was many times worse than the Michigan situation.

Two separate issues here:

1. He was fired with cause because he was sleeping with and had allegedly impregnated a staffer. It also appears that he promoted her with a substantial increase in salary in what looks like a quid pro quo situation. He was fired as the head coach, but is NOT in jail for any of this.

2. He is in jail because he is being investigated for an assault that occurred a couple of hours after he was fired. Rumor has it that the target of the alleged assault was the female staffer that he was sleeping with. Rumor is that this was not an isolated incident and that threats & harassment have been an ongoing situation. He IS in jail facing charges for an alleged assault.

I was just reading that no charges have been filed yet. Hard to believe he has been kept in jail at all, much less for several days, when no charges have been filed. And it sounds like this investigation started this past summer.

What a mess they have. Makes my very appreciative of the stability Coach Elko has brought to our program.

Baylor was worse, Penn St. under Joe Paterno was worse it's kinda hard to top those two.

can't tell if this post was made in jest or not. Either way, it is completely stupid.
