If he falls one time on Saturday. Pull him. If moss doesn't play, Smith and Daniel's need all of the carries

If elko cant see on tape how many times owens falls without being touched then I dont know what to say. By now, the message to owens has to be to keep your feet. It's been all year. Run in control with balance.

Owens would be a legit all-around back if he would keep his feet and try to break a tackle.

If Moss plays, Owen's gets a few carries but he's best coming out the backfield. Really like his hands up the seam.

I've been wondering if he lost some leg strength or something while the injury was healing.
Don't know why he's trying to run so low, chest over knees. Wonder what he thinks when he see's the film.
He is making some great blocks though.

If no Moss, then EJ should get 100% of short yardage and goal line carries.

IIRC, one play he hesitated and stared right down the tunnel on the left side like 2 lanes on I-35 and decided to go right and there was nothing. To me, it was too big a hole to ignore. But hey, I'm not the one on the NIL payroll so I'm probably uninformed.

Film guy did a good analysis on him. Running with his chest too far forward and falling forward too much.

to me i have seen some nice progress from owens. the game is starting to slow down for him and he has done a much better job of using his blockers and running behind his pads. the last phase will be running with more balance which i thibk he will do with more experience. a lot of that is due to anticipation.

Classic zoo. On the verge of our first ever playoff game and a post started to trash a top end back who happens to be our leading rusher. It's amazing he's accomplished this when all he does is fall down without being touched. Y'all need to try watching football without getting soused before the game.

Been saying all year, outside of Moss, EJ to me is the clear best back of the bunch. Guy is closest to Moss in he turns no gain into 2-3 yards. Entirely different player than he was last year. Maybe he was hurt. But he's run this year like a guy pissed off and wanting to punish defenders. I'd feed a guy like that the ball.

While I agree that the statements here a over the top, Owens does have to do a better job staying on his feet. The Film Guy was pretty critical of him and shows multiple times where we had big plays to be made but he simply falls forward.

Yes and no.

Has he done well? Yes.

Have I lost count the number of times he's fallen down without being touched or the slightest hand graze against him? Also, yes.

Not sure why it would be. I think we all know his balance is better than that.

Owens has had some slips largely due to poorly thrown screen passes.

I think owens, and a lot of the other players, were caught off guard by the turf against texas. I think that was the first time we had played on turf all year

He has the highest ypc of any back other than Moss who has the edge by a tenth of a yard. If he slips on a cut on occasion, big deal. A lot of backs do that. Heck Reed slipped on the turf on the play he was injured. Regardless, sitting in the peanut gallery with a bunch of former JV benchwarmer superstars and being overly critical of a player that's overcome injury and worked his butt off to be the player he is, which is pretty damn good, is a disgrace. His production is clear evidence that it isn't deserved from the so-called "fans".

Sterling82, please look at the provided film study concerning Owens, before posting again. I'm a big fan of Owens, but it is a problem, he's not slipping, and fixing the problem is critical. It's comparable to a QB repeatedly missing wide open downfield receivers. I'm sure Elko is weighing his potential vs current risk..

As of last week, they are not planning on replacing. I was told that they are looking to get at least 2 more seasons out of that field. Things can change but I would be surprised if they did based on how they have done things with their other fields.

Yes Owens falling was a problem, as made obvious by The Film Guy, but also he TRUCKED a guy blocking at least once. He isn't afraid of being tackled but something is definitely off it seems
