We are delusional if we don't bring in a legitimate QB to compete with Reed. Best man gets the job, There should be zero tenured positions on the team for next season.

Klein spent too much time trying to turn him into a pocket passer. We should have used him like Georgia Tech used Haynes King. The thing that Reed does best is run we should have been nothing but zone read and RPO
Trash take. Going into this year your thought LSU, Florida, and Missouri were going to be bottom feeders? You never know how it'll unfold.
We'll be breaking in a new OL next year, no Moss even for 5 games...its gonna be a long season

I also think the OP is right.
We won't get another QB.
It will be the worst mistake of the offseason and will doom the 26 season.
He's a good college QB. He's just not a GREAT college QB that relishes the pressure at the end of the season.
This last month's swoon was largely on him.
That said, great dude. I'm rooting for him to develop the mental toughness part of his game.

I disagree. His decision making is bad. His turnovers are alarming. I think he's beyond becoming an elite level QB at this point and we need to find one.
At least we don't have to see "will moss be back" threads anymore

Reed is clearly not a championship caliber QB. Bail on him and bring in a new transfer QB. If not then Elko will get run off in 2-3 yrs.

I don't think he's mentally weak. But he's consistently inaccurate. In large part because he has very poor footwork. If Klein couldn't fix that in 2 years then it's probably not fix-able. Last year he didn't have elite WRs so he couldn't complete passes. This year he has 2 elite WRs that were able to pick balls off the grass and make leaping catches. That's the difference.dreyOO said:

Offend our leading receiver by looking for a upgrade, and he left. What will we do?!?! Well we bring in two upgrades.
I love Marcel as a leader and a person based on what I have seen. But as a quarterback he is very Jekyll/hyde week to week and has limited composure under pressure. We will win more than we loose with him, but if the goal is a natty, I agree with others that he isn't the guy to get us there.

I would love to know what/how you think developing a QB would look like. The staff has improved Reeds productivity to a point where he was in Heisman talks. I would also love to know what type of playcalling scheme you think we should implement to better our offensive production. For 11 games, we were able to move the football pretty consistently, then our QB started missing throws.

OLine got whipped like cold cream. And it wasn't the first game. Reed is also not good enough. If Elko isn't looking for a portal upgrade, then he's not doing his job.
He is not a pocket passer and that's ok. The issue was this season we tried to prove he was. He is a dual threat that we tried to make a pocket passer because there wasn't a serviceable backup. We coached scared and didn't use his legs outside of LSU.

Yes, Napier and BK were both pn the hot seat and Missouri is always over rated.

Klein was a running QB who was average at best at passing. Get Reed a real QB coach.

Most of you have forgotten, but Notre Dame dropped a ball in the end zone for an INT that would have ended that game with a loss for us.
Reed is simply too inconsistent. We lost to Texas and to Miami because of Reed.

While the Oline did play like ****, several of those sacks were on Reed and his terrible decision making. Hell he ran into sacks on several of those. He was beyond awful today. That dip**** Klein did him no favors with the play calling and play selection. No slants or anything to get the ball out of Reed's hands fast. But not like Reed could make the throw anyway.

Because Reed was holding the ball or because of a blitz. He had plenty of time and a decent pocket all day. He didn't get it done.
I think Reed will start next season, but we do need a serious QB competition in the off-season.

He couldn't hit the broadside of the barn today. That had zero to do with run game, which was not good.
