I hope this serves as a lesson learned. We could be Oregon who will destroy JMU and then get Texas Tech who is probably about on par with Miami talent-wise. We could be Ole Miss who is wiping the floor with Tulane right now and then going to play Indiana next week. Seeding absolutely matters and the fact that we dropped to 7 instead of 5-6 changed our trajectory.

For everyone who said "it doesn't matter just prove the haters wrong and beat everyone!" we are not the 90's Dallas Cowboys and we are not going to just beat whoever is put in front of us.

From now on we need to do everything in our power to maximize our seed and get the most favorable draws possible.

I don't know if we beat Tulane or jmu at this point. We peaked mid season and went downhill down the stretch as usual.

Dumb take. Every playoff team outside of JMU and Tulane would have crushed us in the second round.

Maybe we should not of lost to Texas then.

Seeding doesn't matter when you play the way our team played. Seeding also doesn't matter when you turn it over 3 times. When you play sh*tty and have lots of turnovers, you aren't going far in the playoffs.

The G5 teams in the playoff are a joke when teams like ND and Vandy are being left out. You either need to get them out (can't, antitrust) or expand and just let everyone have a G5 opponent first round.
It should have been ND vs Ole Miss and Vandy vs Oregon.

At this point, it's clear we couldn't compete with real talent. We'd likely beat JMU or Tulane but everyone else would be tough. Would still rather be alive in hopes something goes our way but we probably didn't have what it takes to win it all.

You really think OU would have crushed us? I disagree.

In fact I don't think Miami crushed us either.

I mean, I guess you are right, but did something show you today that this was a championship caliber team?

Last three games vs fbs teams we had 10 quarters of garbage football due to Reed being a fraud and Klein having his head in sh-thole Manhattan.

I don't think it's something we will need to worry about going forward.

We'll be lucky to win 7 next year.

Are you calling Tulane and JMU equal to Miami?
We played lousy but I don't buy that bull*****
This is what the "committee" wanted. We were setup to fail and this team gave them what they wanted.

Seeding doesn't matter when the committee doesn't rank teams based on merit best to worst. It's all subjective to politics And sadly money. Especially the tv executives. We had a better resume than Oregon and Tech honestly.

Then according to you we got lucky to play Miami. Cuz we had a very good chance to tie it up at the end and lost a contested game. Just don't know what saying all the other teams crush us proves?

I guess it proves you should find something else to do with your time next year.

Miami was more than beatable. Let's be honest. We **** the bed today. Offensively. In coaching decisions. On ST. In just about every phase of the game we laid an egg that would make an ostrich blush.

If youre as good as you claim? You win at home vs an ACC team. This is absurd. We are the kings of excuses.

Miami or OU don't need to crush us because we help them out by shooting ourselves in the foot.

Yes. Their defense from front to back is much better than Miami defense. Crushed no, won yes.

Quit proving all the critics and doubters right year after year. Everyone knew we were overrated based off our schedule except Aggie fans.

But, then having to play OSU, probably Georgia, then probably Indiana. Yeah, this team aint winning 4 in a row like that.

We have better tv ratings than Oregon and Tech too so wouldn't that work in our favor?

In fairness I don't think I made my initial point clear enough. Obviously we were not a championship caliber team this year. The name of the game is winning as many playoff games as possible to win over as many elite recruits as possible so that your team eventually IS championship material. I think it hurts us that Texas has made it to a semifinal and we have not. I think a realistic goal for this playoff would have been to make it to the semi final and use that to garner huge recruiting momentum for next year. And depending on the path we were given, that was possible.
