It seems like every time we get in these big games the other team is bigger, stronger, faster and more talented than us.
Their d-line....o-line...lb's...rb's..db's.
And it seemed that way against t.u. as well.
Frankly...those items are going to take 2-3 more years of out-recruiting the competition each year...or outspending everyone else in the portal every year.
We just don't have the physical stud talent to compete at the highest level.
Sure..we can beat middling to lower SEC teams...but we struggle to even compete when we meet a good program.
And Miami is not even the best around. But Cristobal has better talent across the board than A&M.

And they could have done that even earlier in the game.
We need better talent period. It's obvious.
You can only out-scheme the competition for so long until it catches up.

Nahh….

We just need players who score more than the other team.

It's not the X's and O's. It's the Jimmes and Joes.

We should have spent more on NIL than on extending Elko.

We need better players because we arent developing players. We have some standouts but they are irregular as a whole and seem to be elevating themselves by their own doing

Oline and QB sold the game, and pathetic play calling- almost identical to the texas game. All three will be different next season, that is if elko wants to stick around and cares about winning

In a nutshell, yes.

Miami and Texas were stronger at the LOS. They also had better backfields and LBs. Not a huge disparity, but it was there. Elko has piece-mealed stuff together pretty well, but now it's time to get those real 1st round difference makers to be a real contender. Gotta spend big bucks or get left behind even more.


Oh, and Reed is pretty much at his 3-star ceiling. It'll be quite interesting on how short of a leash he'll have next season.

i dont think having smaller, slower, weaker players was our problem. at least not on D.

now our running game and our O Line- maybe.

Indiana has a bunch of 3 stars to no stars.

How are they doing it?

Until we're putting 10+ into the NFL Draft every year, we're not gonna have the roster.

That's the difference between the perennial contenders and the one-off wanna-be's.
Even TCU in their runner-up bloodbath put 8 into the next NFL Draft.

The roster matters.
Not the recruiting star count. But the NFL Draft pick count.
It's a testament to your program and how well you develop.

It's hilarious to me to hear about what we "need". We have more money than Jesus and his dad combined and yet we still talk about what we need. Whatever we need, it can't be bought.
