That's it. It's not harder than that.

And it's been a problem all season. Everyone has said it. It doesn't really MATTER what your game plan is. It does NOT matter WHO calls plays or what their allegiance is. It does NOT matter who the refs are or if they miss calls. It does NOT matter who is injured or what their recruiting rankings are. It does NOT matter who we play first or last or what our schedule is.


If you can't play consistently for 60 minutes and play four solid quarters of football and execute on the things you've been coached to do you won't win championships. Ever.

It sounds trite. Because everyone says it. But we didn't play a single game all season where we played well in each quarter. Not one.

I don't know whose fault that is. But I know that until I see a game where we play consistently for four quarters this team isn't where it needs to be.

Predicable offenses can win if they are good enough and execute well enough. See Nebraska. See Bama. Everyone knows what they will do when they had championship teams. You just can't stop them.

Thats also doesn't matter if you execute better than they do. It's about consistent execution every down. Not about how many yards you gain. Nebraska has won championships gaining four yards a play and consistently stopping the other team.

Our defense has that level of excellence it seems. But our offense does not.

We lost because Klein was already gone and he did not care. Elko should have not let him call plays after taken the KS job

I've been following the Aggies for nearly 35 years and I can count maybe 5 - 10 games in that time frame we have played consistently well in all three phases of the game for four quarters. It is a rare sight. I may be overstating that number but I'm just not willing to research and recount all those games to try and get a more accurate count. I suspect this is a common affliction in all of football, regardless of the level or team you follow, but it is absolutely a primary characteristic of this program.

Our D allowed 175 yards rushing, mostly in the 2nd half, against a Miami team ranked 77th in the nation rushing. They were not "excellent". Beck didn't have to throw the ball because of that. Same thing happened against Texas. Regardless, they held Miami to 10 points.

The offense lost the game. They were putrid because of Marcel. He can't pass against zone from the pocket.

It's going to take some player turnover to completely change the culture. And some LBs and safeties that can defend the run.

Our defense needs more talent behind the line and our offense needs a QB capable of executing it. I don't have a lot of faith that Reed is going to improve enough to be that guy.

Been saying all year if we ever played a complete game we could beat anyone. Unfortunately we were never able to pull it together for four quarters, even in the games we won.

But I thought it was different now with Elko culture?
At least that's what I heard a lot around here all season.

I've bee critical of Klein since last year, but it's hard to blame him on Marcel's bad turnovers these last 3 games (SC, tu, Miami).

We lost b/c QB1 was sloppy w/ the ball and played poorly. The defense played good enough to win. Special teams was what we expected it to be. However, QB1 accounted for 3 very bad turnovers and that was the difference. The problem is that QB1 is inconsistent. When he is on, as was the case vs. LSU, he is very, very good. When he is off, as was the case in the 1st half vs. South Carolina, vs. Texas, and vs. Miami, he is very bad. Some of this can be put on the OC, and we can also point a few fingers at the O-Line, but Reed has a very bad habit of throwing to the wrong team when we are in the red zone. Against inferior competition we were able to overcome it during the season. Against better teams you don't get second chances.

2 plays could have won that game. 1 touchdown and making the blocked kick.

It would've been sloppy, but a win was absolutely possible even with the sloppiness.

It's easy to hold up 4 disciplined quarters as the prescription, but the reality is that this game could've been won at a performance level which was still far below that standard.

This BS when people say that a team should play 4 Quarters of Solid Football is so old when the opponent is a good team, or just a decent team. The occurrence of a team playing 4 Quarters of Solid Football has to be miniscule compared to the number of games played in NCAA football unless there is a total mismatch of opponents. Even then, go try to find games where a team has done it.

We lost because we dont have the explosive player out of the backfield we need... nor do we have the creative schemes that gets that explosion into the open field enough... We need speed in the backfield, blocking on the perimeter, speed on the perimeter (which we have), and athletics bodys in the TE positions who can also chip effectively before catching and picking up 1st downs.

I love our RB room, but without Moss it dropped off fast...

Defense was awesome for most of the game. They ffinally wore down after the offense failed to sustain drives and turned the ball over numerous times.

One quarter of good offensive football wins that game. Reliable kicking might have been able to win it. 4 good quarters would have been a massacre.

Aggies lost because Miami played A&M football better than A&M. Wore the DL down. Also, Regis being hurt was probably a huge factor.

His blah offense looked this same this weekend as it did against ND in 2024. Still doesn't seem to know how to call plays that take advantage of the team's strengths.

Miami was extremely good on initial contact bringing our guys down. We had very little YAC. That was huge deal in this game. We tried a bunch of bubble screen type throws in the first half and could not get much YAC. We abandoned that in the second half.

Couldn't get YAC on those quick screens in the first half because the WRs had to do gymnastics routines to catch the off-target balls

Reed can only develop better if he has good coaching/ mentorship...OC/ QBs coach Colin Klein did Reed no favors. Reed needs some major help this offseason and pray we get a damn good QB coach/ asst OC that can mentor our new OC that has zero OC experience...

Uhhhhhh.......yes.

This team didn't even play a full 3 quarters of solid football all season. And that's the most frustrating part. But also why we should all be very optimistic. We almost went undefeated regular season without even playing near our potential. Elko can address this. But Reed does get me very, very nervous as you can only control so much. I love the person and appreciate his immense versatility as a athlete. Problem is, he isnt a natural QB and I am not sold you can force feed him at this point.

Perhaps we played four quarters but during the quarters that looked like we didn't play, the other team played better.
