How long do you want to ignore this user?
I've read through many, many posts giving up on Johnny and calling the set of circumstances we all see as the truth, with Saturday serving as the last straw.

I don't know what it is true, but I know I want to believe he is capable of far more.

As an Aggie family, shouldn't we be responding to him with a mirror and widespread offers for help from a family? WE are different in that way.

He is 100% capable of more, could be playing on Sundays, on an NFL team, or reporting on football with a big network.

At some point you have to let the guy figure it out on his own. That doesn't mean you can't criticize him for lying on a podcast and lying to a whole fan base.

Obviously don't wish bad things on him, but sometimes enough is enough.

yeah, this isn't something new, or something he's not aware of. It may be something he doesn't really care abou/t/doesn't want to change.

He has all the luxuries to be able to change things if he wanted- he's not being held back by financial constraints, or inaccessibility to the right resources. If it mattered enough, it seems he would avail himself. The proberbial "rock bottom" has not been reached.

But saying it's anyone else's responsibility or the "right" thing to do- that's a stretch. just my opinion, maybe uneducated.

Jesus only saves those that confess their sin and repent of it and ask him to be their Lord and Savior.

I am not sure if Johnny has reached the bottom, though, like the younger prodigal son in the parable…though he worked on getting there!

I love Johnny. Love what he did for the University. Time to not treat him like our version of Michael Irvin/Matthew McConaughey. No need for him to be our celebrity guest picker & on the sidelines for games.

If he really wants to contribute to the program, lets have him take Ted Cruz out to lunch before games and forget to show up.

It is really simple He can be a better person and a better Ag he just needs to NOT be a ******bag bro in Miami at some stupid YouTube Podcaster boxing event

Currently he enjoys being a ******bag and it's just sad

Completely admit this isn't something new from him.

He isn't without value to our family, he just needs to be shown the way. WE are the way.

How many of us could have been graced with tremendous abilities, fame, and wealth when we were 20 without a complete faceplant? We are greater than "the U". We are Aggies.

I like Johnny but we can't save him from anything. Johnny is a big boy and managed to get himself a Heisman and drafted by the Browns. If he wants to piss his legacy away or build on it, it will be in him.

He has to hit rock bottom and want it himself. He has to want to save himself. Sad but this is a story repeating millions rn. Life can be beautiful and it can be absolutely brutal.

He's a wealthy 33 year old man who doesn't want to change anything. No forcing that.

army01 - completely agree.

Johnny has so many outlets - fellow sports programs and athletes, veterans, Aggie families, current students, prospective families, etc, etc, etc.

Pick your spot - the field is wide open to you. Just be true to it. Don't be too proud to ask for help,

Speak authentically.

He needs to save himself. Jesus Christ he has more money than most of us could dream of.

If he doesn't, he's an idiot. His family and support system needs to do the rest. I don't even give a **** anymore. I have to show up to work at 8 am.

His stupid ass doesn't have a corporate manager. A&M doesn't have to defend him.

Burnsey,

He was a teenager (or 20). WE owe him more than a 'deal with it' legacy.

He's a grown ass man and continues to make bad decisions. Not everyone can handle money, power and fame. God and sobriety COMMITMENTS at this point is the only way to getting self control and rid of all the immaturity/ decision making.

And if he is reading this thread (I know he is):

Johnny get help and recognize what is important in life. The alumni and A&M as a school don't owe you anything anymore because you continue the show your ass to the nation and DONT SHOW UP.

Go away from this program and find your purpose. We can do nothing for you anymore.

Some of us could live or have life changing things happen on the money you have seen and given nothing back to. NIL came too late to benefit you and that's not our fault.

Jesus Christ, stop being a trainwreck and stop associating yourself with A&M when you contribute nothing but embarrassment. Try some bongos and weed in Austin and see how it goes

I hope A&M (and ESPN) simply cut ties.

Great college player. But that's all.

He is a grown man and makes his own decisions. His decision to be the kind of man that chases a party the night before your university plays its biggest game in decades with a guest spot on ESPN. It's who he has decided to be.

Everyone should plan accordingly

I think what's most sad is he won't just admit he was hungover.

Nobody is buying the story he suddenly got otherwise sick between midnight (pictured at the fight) and 6 am ish when he was supposed to get on a plane.

Pathetic.

Welcome to TexAgs. I'm honored that you chose to use your 4th ever post to reply to me.

Tell Johnny I said hi. But then again, it's obvious that you've never spoken two words to the man. So, if you want to pray for him, knock yourself out.

But this thread is bizarre. Aggies like/love Johnny, even so he's a grown man and his legacy is not yours or ours. Save him? Are you a girl?

Anyways, I wish him the best, but I don't owe him anything beyond a handshake.

WE gave him a stage to possibly set him up for life. He's had plenty of chances to take advantage of that. His choices are not our fault.

No matter what I, nor anybody else on this message board says matters. Until Johnny wants to gets his **** straight, there is nothing any of us can say that will change how he acts.

He was one hell of a QB for the Aggies, but that does not mean that he can avoid responsibility for his own actions 12 years after he was the QB for the Aggies. I will also point out that if he is looking to TexAgs and what the posters here are saying about his actions, I can only laugh.

Nobody owes him anything. He's a 33 year old man who's a year or two away from becoming a real life Uncle Rico after a decade of second and third and fourth chances.

I don't know why we're pretending he's a saint. If not for the fact that he was fantastic at a game 12-13 years ago, we'd all think he was extremely self centered.

Haven't you ever heard it said that you have to want to get better yourself before anybody else can help you?

Do you think it's pretty safe to assume that the many folks with resources and/or connections to Johnny have been trying to help him for a long time now? Remember what his own dad said about him when he was here?

What do you suppose we, as random internet posters can do for Johnny that others haven't already?

If Johnny wants to get better, he has access to help that 99.99% of people in this country don't have access to. This is what's so frustrating about his Peter Pan Syndrome. It's not cute anymore.

Your time would be more meaningfully spent finding those around you who actively and sincerely want your help and want to get better.

I don't owe him anything, and he doesn't owe me anything.

He's a guy I watched play football more than a decade ago. I don't confuse that with actual family and friends.

Take care of the plank in your eye? My guy, Manziel committed to be our representative on national TV, no-show'd because he partied too hard the night, and then trotted out some bull**** "uh I got sick" excuse like a college freshman. We've all got our problems but that was some epic irresponsibility and an epic F you to his alma mater.

What did you expect us to say? "Don't worry about it, Johnny. It's okay that you treated this like a complete joke because you threw some touchdowns a decade ago"?

Dude clearly doesn't care about anybody but himself so not sure why any of us should bother to give him the time of day.

Johnathan gave his heart and soul, sweat and blood, and his body and mind to Texas A&M football.

His current life challenges are no doubt the results of giving 100% to university and 12th Man. His mental issues are from the countless hard hits he took.

Instead of complaining and criticizing, we all should give him love, respect, and compassion and pass the hat around annually to give back to him and his philanthropic endeavors.

The man deserves a 12 foot high statue on campus and a bigger one in front of Kyle Field he built.

He was definitely capable of more. He's thrown all that away and that time has come and gone.

I'm sure the Aggie family would bend over backwards to help him out. I would. But he is totally immune to help or advice.

I think the only kind of success we can realistically hope for him is that he controls his bipolar disorder and his depression. He's at the point now where he needs to be checked into rehab and kept there until he's healthy again. I don't mean football healthy, I just mean healthy.

Then there's probably some people in his life who are bad for him that he needs to get rid of.
No, I don't care what CNN or Miss NOW said this time
