The Manziel family's net worth is estimated to be between $50 million and $100 million, primarily due to an oil empire built by Johnny Manziel's great-great-grandfather, Bobby Joe Manziel Jr., who struck oil in Texas in the 1930s.

I agree with many of the things said here. Some of us are far too harsh, or amount to t-sip t-shirts.

Aggies are family.

Aggies sacrifice. Aggies give. Aggies do far more than your average horse. Aggies are brothers. Aggies are sisters.

Aggies need for Johnny to find his Aggie hat. WE should help him find that.

Johnny is a ****ing r*tard. Can't help those who can't help themselves NOR WANT TO HELP THEMSELVES. Maybe if he has a health scare, stroke or something after a coke bender, maybe then he will use his 3 brain cells

I wasn't going to reply, but on the off chance he does read this depressing website, I will just post this for him and say a prayer for him.

I loved watching Johnny on the field, but he's pissed away more good opportunities than most people see in a lifetime. At some point all of the second chances become enabling. He needs to prove he's responsible before he's embraced again.

He answered the call on a moments notice, and represented his university with pride.

You must be young. Passing of time will force him into adult consequences (aka "growing up") whether he chooses them or not

so you bought the great myth. Congrats.

"according to Netflix's Untold: Johnny Football, Manziel revealed that he and his friend Nathan Fitch earned money off sports memorabilia and signed merchandise. In the documentary, Manziel revealed he made $33,000 for doing so.

To cover up, Manziel used his oil family fortune. However, Manziel never truly financially inherited his great-grandfather's wealth."

I couldn't care less how much money Johnny Manziel does or doesnt have, but your response doesn't disprove anything.

Whether he "truly inherited" said wealth doesn't mean he does or does not have access to said wealth as a child or grandchild of wealthy people, and it certainly doesn't disprove that it exists in the first place.

I've read through many, many posts giving up on Johnny and calling the set of circumstances we all see as the truth, with Saturday serving as the last straw.

I don't know what it is true, but I know I want to believe he is capable of far more.

As an Aggie family, shouldn't we be responding to him with a mirror and widespread offers for help from a family? WE are different in that way.

Gig 'Em.

We have been there and done that. Even bought the shirt.

Until he believes he needs to change, there's not much anyone can do.

I am not sure if Johnny has reached the bottom, though, like the younger prodigal son in the parable…though he worked on getting there!

when i am weak he is strong. when you hit rock bottom it shows you how weak you really are.

You can't save an addict. He has to hit rock bottom and finally accept help. With JFF's money (IIRC, his family has oil money), I can't see him hitting rock bottom. I suspect his childhood will continue...

Completely admit this isn't something new from him.

He isn't without value to our family, he just needs to be shown the way. WE are the way.

How many of us could have been graced with tremendous abilities, fame, and wealth when we were 20 without a complete faceplant? We are greater than "the U". We are Aggies.

What is it you are suggesting "we" do? Seriously.

I'm no rook.

I've worn boots, senior, combat, and cowboy, while most of you were wearing diapers.

I've seen good and great Ags. All of them deserve compassion and understanding.

Johnny is on a path WE can all help him with. It's a part of why we aren't the U.

Loved seeing Alex as guest picker. A man with two rings (his presence being the common denominator for the Lakers and Thunder championship seasons), a great NBA career that most did not predict, a nice paycheck and beautiful wife.

As someone who lost an adult son to a drug overdose (after a long, painful, heart breaking journey), I can tell you that you can beg them to to go to rehab, you can take them to rehab, you can tell them to get their act together, etc.- but you cannot love them enough to make them right. Only they can do that, and until they are ready to take the lead to recovery, all you can do is love them and pray for them. Addiction is a horrible disease where rehab is only successful <70% of the time at best and overdose death leads to a life filled with grief, tears, a broken heart, as well as times of second guessing and anger (at your child, yourself- and even God)- I've experienced all of that in the last almost seven years.

So it is easy to have an opinion about something you may never have faced, it is easy to call an addict ugly names, it is easy to say all they have to do straighten up, it is easy to say we need to push them to a better life, etc.- but we have no control over that person's life until they reach out for help. I pray JFF finds his inner peace, finds Jesus (if he does not already know him) and finds his path to recovery for himself and nobody else- and a life filled with many blessings.

Sorry but time for the University to quietly disqualify JFF from representing the school in any way. Doesn't mean we don't appreciate his play. We can all still be nice to him and friendly to him when he is at games, etc.
