Worldclass research university, excellent military history, amazing rags to riches story from innate humble agricultural beginnings to a billion dollar plus brand today. Much of college football is rigged and manipulated, unfortunately. That being said, it seems like Texas A&M being shown some favor would be good business for a lot of entities.

Who is they? During my business career travels across the country, I have been shown lots of respect when asked my alma mater. Typically, it's a question about the ring, followed by, that's a great school.

i think there is some bias against our football program and or sports programs. not the school as a whole but the athletic program. i think we happen to be one of those programs that people that get us love us the others despise us. there really doesn't seem to be a lot of middle ground.
People respect A&M as an education center. It's our football program people laugh at. To include many Aggies.

Some Ags may want to put their heads under the sand, but there's plenty of online hate, at least when it comes to sports. We're easy targets as a huge school with a ton of pride with some cornball traditions directly related to football. Other than that, it's trivial rivalry smack. If some people can't separate the quality of education from sports, then you should probably not associate with them.
There is an obvious officiating bias against A&M football. The PC crowd will deny that.

It is simple why the major networks hate the Aggies:
ESPN - ABC - CBS - FS1 - Disney - Etc. are all "liberal based DEI driven organizations".
The Texas Aggies are conservative in nature and hold strong southern beliefs:

They are too lazy to look up the fact that A&M opened 7 years before his little brother. And math is hard for some.
They also want to always mention the overall head to head. But are too lazy to lookup the facts that while A&M was once an all male college, they were also out fighting world wars for our freedoms like waiving dildos in the streets. Go look up head to head during wartimes. Facts are facts and sipping tea and dying for your country can affect overall records.

The hate is likely driven by a cancer that has been festering in that city out west for more than a 100 years. It is a hate toward our athletic programs, though, not the overall university.

SECrant is a good example. Every school fan gets dogged over there. Each school has an angle to cut'em. For us it's 1939, was 8&4, milkmen yell leaders, (f)aggies, and our general "weirdness" with our traditions - but it's easy to tell they all wish they were as rich in tradition. Talking sports with other fan bases is like watching crap thrown every where. Not for the thin skinned.
As for me, I'm part of a group text with buds with whom I grew up. Most are Ags and a few sips. I'm pretty harsh on the sips because THEY ARE so thin skinned. Sometimes they'll stop responding to me or even block me for a while because they're like women with the silent treatment. It's a hoot!

Academically, not in the slightest.
In terms of football, too long have they underachieved without any sort of breakthrough. Thus, more accomplished programs get the nod over A&M. That can change with winning. But lol.

The answer to the question of whether the networks belittle us due to our perceived conservatism is in your own post. All of college football is about one thing…. money. The idea that ESPN would turn a blind eye to the money A&M could produce on the national stage, if ever truly successful, in order to keep us down due to our politics is ludicrous.
We are a very wealthy school. We've used a lot of that wealth to try to buy our way into the popular clique, i.e championship football club.
The schools that don't have that wealth - most of them - are jealous and hate us because of that. The schools that are in the clique don't want us in the clique, especially using money to try to get in. Forget the fact that they did nothing to get in; they were born in via scholarship limits, being the flagship university, being the only university with a major football program in their state, etc...

There are plenty of southern schools who have, at least until very recently, held those same beliefs. That dog doesn't hunt imo.
This. The student bodies of many many SEC schools, along with their former students and general supporters, are extremely conservative. The idea that the networks are out to get us, and no one else, because of A&Ms political beliefs is absurdly at its finest.
