OL let us down

Every four years, we get an OL that is ready to compete for big results.
2025 was one of those years.
And, when it mattered most (after Thanksgiving), they were very much underwhelming.

Lot's of other flaws that would have prevented us from a much better result this year (including kicking, qb and elite receivers droppings catchable balls), but we lost the line of scrimmage in our last two games (losses).

Four year cycles should be shortened significantly with NIL.

The OL and defense did enough to beat Miami. Reed lost that game with his 3 turnovers and missed wide open targets. The more I see the highlights, he was just dog$h!t awful. In typical Aggie fashion we gave him an enormous payday just prior to that abomination!

I saw film guy break down the game and Reed-Adams was manhandled all night by Bain. Their other defenders on the edge were fast enough to shed their blocks and limit our production. They put on a clinic in the trenches, that was the difference.

It was a team effort, O line, dropped passed, overthrown passes, over all stumble, fumble and fall! Reed looked as he was playing in desperation. Example, the interception he threw that lost the ball game was thrown two arms lengths behind his receiver. If thrown correctly it was entirely catchable.

The OL was underwhelming most of the year. They rarely established a dominant run game and Reed's ability to avoid sacks accounted for more than their pass blocking. There were a lot of disappointing false starts that should have cost us more than they did.

slightly, but OL success can sometimes be more about chemistry than one stand out player

I watched an ass kicking in the trenches against Miami live and in the flesh. Marcel isn't without fault, but he rarely had enough time to get past his second read before someone was breathing down his neck. The o-line got pantsed.

The loss was solely on Reed. I've seen plenty of film breakdown, receivers were open. There was opportunity. Reed couldn't make the reads or just couldnt pull the trigger when timing was right. If Reed could of hit the quick throws, it would've changed the defense. He couldn't so we became one dimensional.

Hope he improves by next season.

You weren't watching very closely if you think the OL did anything remotely close to enough. Literally were dominated nearly every single snap

It has been analyzed a lot over the last few weeks.

Every team now knows how to defend both the Aggies running game & Marcel Reed:

1. Stop the run game by hitting home with the front 4 to
-- minimize our running & putting pressure from all sides on Marcel when passing.
2, Contain him in the pocket with a spy and make him become a pocket passer.
3. Play a Zone Defense on the backend with 6 to 7 defenders.
4. The Zone coverage forces QBs to be very accurate in throwing into smaller windows.
(Marcel has Mechanical Issues and is Not An Accurate Passer).

This Defensive Strategy has been Highly Successful in beating The Aggies
by both t.u. and Miami.

*** Our Coaching staff was not successful to overcome this weakness.
Next year every team we play will incorporate this defensive strategy against us.

Offensive line play is largely determined by reps together. NIL better start buying five or six at a time.

Oh, you watched the second half? So maybe you saw us drive down the field and Reed missed an open receiver in the end zone that ended the game? It was a terrible throw WAY behind the receiver. Reed had 3 turnovers where his piss poor decision making was the reason for all of them. He wins 7 games next season and I'm being generous. He's not good

We rushed for under 100 and Miami had seven sacks. That was the issue.

Several of those sacks were Reed holding the ball too damn long.
