I don't think that's a good thing. I get it that he was probably underutilized....don't blame him. I feel like we need 2 solid TE's and he and Nate are our best.

While I liked the use of our TE's this year in key moments I was not in love with any of their skill sets. This doesn't bother me at all if true.

Tremendous talent. Possibly the most talented TE ever at ATM outside of Bernstein. Unfortunately, 17 hasn't developed ball skills. The busted dump/screen that cost us an IG was bad--not Reeds fault. Hopefully, 17 gets the opportunity to develop at another program and dominate in the NFL. I honestly expected him to leave for the league, but he needs more reps to master football. If he stays, he needs to go play a bunch of hoops and watch tape on good TE play.

We had one of the best TE recruit in the country last year. I think we'll be alright.

Yes sir. I have heard great things about the young man from the Jasper area. Apparently, he is a good kid too. It will all be fine. Footwork and ball skills are key. 17 did improve his footwork this year. It hurt us bad in the TEX game last year, much improved this year.

***Apparently the WR that tore his ACL for a second time might be like Megatron and the most talented WR to ever step foot on campus. I hope the latest repair went well. Trust Elko, he seems to be a strong talent evaluator.

There was nothing wrong with our TE's. However there was something wrong with how little they were used in Kleins offense.

A good part of that was how little they did to break away. We had slow dudes. Some blocked better then others but the only TE plays were slips by the defense or good offensive misdirection. We didn't have a TE on the roster who could do anything 1 on 1.

Campbell, Spiller, Bennett, Sternberger, hell, even Greg Porter were all better, and except for Jase, also under utilized.

Players have loyalty only to themselves. Hopefully we find another temporary replacement.

This guy was here 4 years. He's mid. He'll go somewhere else and be mid too. The way some of you guys build up players who haven't done anything is amazing.

personally one of my biggest disappointments with klein as an OC was the unwillingness to use our tight ends more. he came in as an H back/ tight end using wizard but i never saw it.

This is about getting paid via NIL as much as it is about number of receptions. It sucks.

I thought the same, Detmer. At least twice against Miami Boerchercher was WIDE OPEN in the middle of the field. Both plays were 10-12 yd gains (at a min) and the only person covering him was the Umpire. Marcel never saw him and he had time to get him the ball in both instances. My point is some of that bewilderment with the lack of use of te/h backs was Marcel.

Texas game should have been pounding the seams in the first half. Would have sucked the backup LB's back and opened the run game.

I really don't think the board is obsessed with getting the ball in the hands of the least explosive players but they are interested in getting the ball to open pass receivers .

He's on a visa and can't receive NIL.

So curious what prompted the transfer because it seemed he had a better experience with Elko after struggling with the culture Fisher let on.

Yeah, that's not on Klein. TEs were open most all of the year.
That's on Reed, and very rarely looking beyond KC or Craver.
Bussey and ABR were rarely noticed as well.

Klein did a great job as OC. Don't let Reed's bad throws and bad decisions (that he oftentimes still got away with) cloud that fact. The schemes and play designs were good.

Reeds an incredible athlete, but I'm fading fast on whether he'll be an effective QB

Perhaps a look at the biggest and one of the best current TE in the league out of Georgia and now for the Steelers. 6'7 280

He is not even in the room of the best TE in A&M history.

We were rightly using KC and Mario, plus ABR, as our primary targets. The most explosive players on the offense. Our TEs SHOULD only be used situationally and targeted much less. Particularly since our TEs were average at best.

Woah, he seemed to have improved from starry eyed kid learning how to spell football, but nowhere near our best. Not top 10 TE at A&M. Wasn't top 2 this year…
