I feel like we are decently safe at the RB position, but it's definitely a position worth trying to get a stud from the portal. Which, plays to our favor.

Wouldn't be surprised if we go after a speed back.

The best part about these threads are all the "ugh what a scrub, he's not good enough for us!" comments and then next season, one of these dudes breaks off a couple of long runs on us and we're like "where did this guy come from? we whiffed on this guy, fire everyone!"

Owens is a JAG, the rest of the room will be sophmores and freshmen. You're betting on the youth being exceptional if you don't get a portal RB.

I'll settle for a healthy Earl Campbell out of the portal please.

We only had one running back who could break a tackle and he got injured. Again.

Maybe. Tough to bet on that though since we barely saw him.

He never got over the first injury.

Our running backs are some of the best in the country

I continue to be baffled by this sentiment. Even with a healthy Moss, the ceiling on the guys behind him was below average to slightly above average.

Owens averaged 5.4 ypc. EJ was 4.7. This was not a Moss or bust backfield.
Unless the OL was horrible for the last collection of games and more than not, then the RBs were all very mid.

We don't be an RB in the portal. Morrow, Riden, and the two incoming FR are both big time RBs. RB room will be loaded.

WR is in a good spot also. I would expect OL and TE in portal, and LB and DL on defense.

This is the way. Lack of quality "big uglies" is what got us killed this year. Did anybody else not watch us get gashed week after week in the run game?

I saw Wisner mentioned above…..you mean the guy who didn't have a hundred yard game all year until he got to us then busted us for 150+ for the second year in a row?

RB is not our problem. Stopping RBs is. Focus there primarily, please

I'm late to this party - but do the people who are saying they don't want the UNT RB because of his competition and they prefer Hardy from Missouri realize that Hardy spent his first year at ULM?

Don't want a UNT running back, unless he hit a growth spurt in college or became significantly faster

he's playing at G5 school because he is not big enough or fast enough to play at P4 school much less a top tier P4 school. Maybe he is good enough to play at Iowa state , Minnesota, Mizzou, or Wake forest (mid tier P4 teams) Very unlikely he is talented enough to contribute at a top 15 program if he was he wouldn't be UNT
Congratulations on an excellent season It is good he is likely to get a chance on a bigger stage ; Unless you are UNT supporter because everybody who is good is leaving for a bigger stage

He is 6-2, 200lbs and ran a 4.68. What are you talking about?

Don't be a size queen. If he was the next Devon Achane, you'd take him.

We need a dude built like Derrick Henry...just like Derrick and can score 4 TDs in one game (+216 yds) like Derrick...
