A playoff game today is NOT equivalent to a playoff game in the past now that 12 teams make the playoff. Playing in a New Years Six Bowl in the past is not much different than playing a Playoff Game today.

The 2020 COVID season was unique and the stars aligned with a down year for the SEC and a fairly easy schedule for Mond in 2020. Reed got that this year with a surprising situation where we only played bottom half SEC teams until the Texas game. While I don't think Reed is elite or likely to be elite, I think he is ahead of where Mond was and better than Mond. Reed will likely have to be better next year to make the playoffs. We play three teams that will likely be good (Texas, Oklahoma, and Alabama) instead of two (Notre Dame and Texas). Also, LSU has been inconsistent in recent years, but they are always a threat to be good in any given year.

Reed is good enough, but he isn't likely to carry the team like the top quarterbacks in college football.

Mond's performance against LSU in THAT game will always make him a favorite of mine.

Sounds like you're talking about Reed.

Maybe early Mond's career, but 2020 Mond was significantly better than Reed

Mond continually improved as a game manager.

Reed has become a turn-over machine.

Mond was extremely lucky to win the game. He threw a pick to lose the game that was negated because he had lost his balance and took a knee by accident. Literally have never seen that play ever happen before or after.

Both are serviceable. Both had accuracy issues, Mond was probably a little more accurate than Reed. Mond protected the ball better than Reed.

Reed's story is still being written. Monds story has an annoying tendency to be rewritten by Mond fanboys.

Mond was 63% his senior year
Mond also had 3 INTs his entire SR season. Now, imagine Reed only having 3 INTs this season

Mond didn't throw an INT in the Orange Bowl victory. He threw one in the entire second half of his senior season
