He did play against us, starting LG. PFF grades that I could find say he was neither the best nor worst of their line. Also just a RS fish. I'd like to see some older instant-impact guys up front but otherwise I think it's a good pickup.

I know their OL struggled, but anytime you have multiple underclassmen starting on the OL, it's bound to be a disaster.

Young, talented, and experienced. Hopefully with the right coaching, he can excel here.

Exactly. Hell, their line wasn't great last year either. Still couldn't run the ball at all yet they had 5 OL drafted (including the #4 overall pick)

I make no judgment on how good or bad Echols is because I'm no expert but it only takes one miss block or assignment for the whole unit to look bad.

I wouldn't be pissed if he convinced Durham to head to College Station, either. I don't love Durham as a bell cow, but if Mohammed doesn't come this way, Durham would be a very good 8-12 carry power back to compliment Morrow and Edwards.

We do have 10 Freshman on the roster who were mostly really highly rated recruits. At some point you would think we could promote from within versus hitting the portal.

This week, it was revealed that LSU transfer left tackle Tyree Adams was at least interested in visiting the Aggies heading into the new year. While a visit was confirmed this week, a date has now been given, as the 6'7" sophomore would more than likely replace Trey Zuhn at left tackle next season, preventing little to no drop-off at one of the more critical positions.

According to Rivals insider Sam Spiegelman, Texas A&M will host Adams on Monday, January 5, after visiting Kentucky on Saturday. Adams is already an established pass protector, and would allow players like Lamont Rogers to continue developing, and allow starting quarterback Marcel Reed more room to maneuver in the pocket.

I like Echols, and I look forward to our strength coach and OL coach coaching him up. I would not be averse to taking one of the tackles from LSU 8&4. Their offensive system and coaching were a mess. Those players will do well here.

Highly rated? We've recruited mediocre at OL. No way more than a few were even Top 100 prospects overall.

One of their tackles was awful, so hopefully that's not Adams then.

We have 6 four star recruits the last 2 years and 2 of them are top 150. We don't need all top 100 guys to be elite. In fact that is not common at all.

We have 6 four star recruits the last 2 years and 2 of them are top 150. We don't need all top 100 guys to be elite. In fact that is not common at all.

Talent profile of the guys Elko has signed is good. Need more even distribution of scholarships. It will come with time, but its great to have the portal to fill holes for next year. Putting freshman into multiple starting spots is a recipe for disaster.
