Agree there. We rarely if ever want even a RS Fr playing along the line and that will take time. Thevpount was mire that we are starting to stack talent at the position group.

He did play against us, starting LG. PFF grades that I could find say he was neither the best nor worst of their line. Also just a RS fish. I'd like to see some older instant-impact guys up front but otherwise I think it's a good pickup.

If Bisontis declares for the draft he is projected to be a 3-4th round pick. Real money but not as much as staying another year, at least I hope that is what he is being told.

Think we still need another OT or two with experience, middle of the OL looks good but need more talent on the ends.

Bourdon is in his 3rd year and looks pretty good.
Rogers is a 5*.

There's a danger of going too heavy on TP and overcooking your HS recruits. HS OL is where you find dawgs and you don't want to screw up the pipeline.

1 OT along with Echols and you're done.

High end talent, I agree, but plenty of 4 stars. Top rated guys on next year's roster will be Bisontis (top 100 in HS), Lamont Rogers (top 30 in HS), Blake Ivy (top 110 in HS), Isendre Ahfua (top 200 in HS). Some lower rated guys, but I expect to be starting or at least in the mix are Mark Nabou (only a 3 star in HS), Coen Echols (top 250 in HS), and Robert Bourdon (only a 3 star in HS).

To be fair, there's not that many OL in the top 100 players overall. Only 7 in top 50 and 14 in the top 100 for class of 2026.

To me, the OL is all about experience and getting as many solid guys in the room as possible to have a hard nosed tough competition in fall camp. The balancing act is how do you convince transfers to come here when you have backlog of talented OL and also convince underclassmen to stay the course and not transfer looking for immediate playing time.

Maybe, but if 5-star Lamont Rogers isn't starting in year 2 he'll be gone, and therefore we no longer benefit from the OL development that TexAgs craves.

We have 6 four star recruits the last 2 years and 2 of them are top 150. We don't need all top 100 guys to be elite. In fact that is not common at all.

And at least about half the 4-stars end up busts every time. I mean, we've been awful at OL since 2020 and we've had mid 4-star guys that whole time.

Well Freshman OL dont usually look great and I'm not saying they will necessarily be great next year but surely by year 3, some of these dudes will be ready.
