You could argue that their season wasn't all that great. A Big 12 title is nice but a 23-0 whooping against the first real team is not great. The loss against Arizona State was horrible and they didn't even get punished for it.

@Utah was probably their best win.

thats overly harsh. they had one bad game, like most of the best teams. And even then, they showcased an amazing D.

The AZ St game i guess you dont know much about.

A better argument would be that this was the best season in program history. Tell me about their other conference titles and playoff games.

Times square billboard isnt for fans, its for people who have money (ad agencies etc) to see that texas tech is a thing they should spend money on. It's simply an awareness/introduction thing.

Is it really an incredible job if the door opens to a billionaire to buy whomever he wants and use his business acumen to market his school's team?

Regardless, with about 36% of residents foreign born, I imagine New Yorkers really don't care about college sports let alone are able to tell you where Texas Tech is.

Which means, as we all know, this is all about stroking a recruits ego and letting them know if you come to Tech we'll put you on a billboard in New York City - and you don't even need to be in Heisman contention, eh Nike?

But, if you are willing and able to do that, like you said, more power to them.

Bc they had a bye, they are claiming supremacy in the state of TX.
