It seems like the portal evaluations and signings are now more important than the high school recruitment/signings. A team is able to recruit & sign older, physically more developed players, with a little more track record against stiffer competition. Except for exceptional high school players, the portal seems less risky.

I heard on ESPN radio last week that there were like 4,500 players in the portal a lot of players. NFL teams have entire staffs of scouts to evaluate college players and other NFL players that may become available. Does A&M have a staff whose sole purpose is to evaluate players? Who heads our scouting staff?

Also, Tech's billionaire chooses to be high profile. I don't think any of our BMA's have chosen to be so visible. Nevertheless, we're all appreciative of their generosity and work to help our team. Who are some of our BMA's that are heavily involved and are funding our football team?

Yes, we have a large staff for this. I forget whether Derek Miller (Recruiting General Manager) or Allen Gaudet (Director of Player Personnel) is the head of the portal-specific piece, but if you look on 12th man we have 12 staffers (#branding) split between high school and portal recruiting.

We have a GM who based on last year is pretty good at his job.
