I don't know. I haven't followed them all year but last night, his receivers were catching every ball in their zip code. Sure he was accurate but those receivers were being mauled and had no right to catch two thirds of the balls that were thrown to them. In at least three examples that I can think of the defender had his hand/s in the way of the ball. Just crazy catches.

No amount of coaching improves accuracy with the football.

Problem is, you generally cannot teach drastically improved accuracy. This is the issue bringing in an athlete and trying to force them into an accurate QB.

We must leverage Reed's strength. He will NEVER be like Borrows. He is not that type of QB.

Our offense must change to benefit Reed more than what Klein called. IMO Klein was the biggest issue. He clearly was hoping that Reed would become an accurate drop back QB. They need to roll Reed out and rely far more on RPOs.

Mendoza is best QB this year as:
1) He is very accurate (Reed will never have his level of accuracy but is 3X more athletic)
2) He operates the RPO almost flawlessly. So he always put his offense in situations with superior advantages. This is where Reed MUST improve drastically. And where the opportunity is IMO.

And Marcel absolutely has a private off-season QB coach.

Even if you fix Reed's mechanics, which is a long shot after three years, I don't think he has the decision-making ability to be an accurate QB

Would the Zoo take this QB in the portal or think they could play in the NFL?

Not a good run team that often forced his hand. Horrible offensive scheme that required him to take many chances to move the team downfield!


He is a completely different QB in the nfl.

BTW the whole point was Josh Allen made improvements to his throwing motion from Wyoming until now that improved his accuracy. Reed can do the same this offseason.

Hopefully he will hire a great QB coach to help him this offseason because he has a long ways to go as a passing QB!

Doesn't Reed work with Jeff Christensen?

Like the guy that works with Mahomes, Baker, Mestemaker, ty Simpson, Sorsby, Will Howard, Keelon Russell and our former QB Haynes King?

I'm sure he knows a thing or two. Now can Reed take what he has learned and utilize it consistently without going back to bad habits is the question.

I don't think Reed is going to suddenly hit guys regularly down field or have impeccable timing or anything like that.

I do think he can improve in his decision making and do things like:
- take his checkdown quicker
- hit routes as soon as they are coming open instead of waiting for bigger things downfield
- be more decisive on when to tuck and run

The outcome of this sort of thing would be improved completion %, even if he's still the same thrower of the football.

That is where we need him to grow.

EXACTLY...Hitting receivers in stride can turn a small gain into a TD. An accurate throw on a Bubble Screen means the receiver doesn't spend that extra time just trying to make the catch, which ultimately kills the play too often.

Did anyone watch Tom Brady on he NFL broadcast last night show the world how to throw in windy conditions?

Mendoza is no where near as good as 2019 Burrow. He's great but not in the same league as Burrow.
