Man, what an INSANE deal. Good on Dabo for speaking out on this. The NCAA is a joke and so is NIL. NIL was a good idea…I thought players would be able to get $$$ for signing autographs and having brand deals. I did not think this would be 24/7 free agency.

I know it's an afterthought and realistically, most of these guys dgaf about academics, but how the heck does any of this crap work from that standpoint!? I do not think I could be at A&M for a semester and then just randomly swap schools midway through.

Students change schools all the time, sometimes even multiple times. My cousin went to 4 different schools for various reasons.

If it wasn't against the rules you might have a point. Dabo has every right to complain if another school is illegally poaching his players. Hope Ole Miss gets made an example.

Everyone shrugging and saying oh well rules can't be enforced are *******. Dabo annoys me in a lot of ways but I commend him here. The NCAA is a direct reflection of our US Congress. Empty suits who refuse to act. Everyone is begging for guidelines. I'm fine with playing the game right now but I'm also fine with people like Dabo bringing receipts. Air all the dirty laundry.

So, your cousin just up and decided to switch schools 4 times and was able to enroll the next day like all of these players? He didn't have to meet the school's transfer application date(s), apply and get accepted?

Just stop

I admire Dabo Sweney for calling out Ole Miss, Pete Golding, Rebels GM Austin Thomas for blatant tampering with Luke Ferrelli. I love how he put Ole Miss on blast by saying Pete Golding offered him a $1 million contract while in class at Clemson. College football has become the "Wild Wild West" of big money. The only sustainable solution is to implement multi-year contracts and penalties for breaking them.

I don't think this was a smart move by him. He runs a massive program that's pretty wealthy and is incentivized to win. There's no way he can absolutely control this in his own shop so to go out and name names and call out one particular other program is a little gross in my opinion.

Everybody knows there's rampant tampering in this system and there's a reason coaches don't name names: glass houses on their own program.

But that's Dabo. Super whiney always and a little gross.

I've grown tired of Dabo's shtick overall but find myself admiring his "bring the receipts approach" here. Seems pretty blatant and takes some of the shine off the Pete Golding feel good story. https://apple.news/A4FUz40vSRsCu5GFF8gShbQ

College football has almost nothing to do with college anymore. Too bad no adult leaders in NCAA and university admins. Next step will be aligning "college" teams with a pro franchise.

Little the ncaa can do. They should at least try. And do it now. Don't wait two years like usual.

Administration needs to act like adults and shut this down.

Why act like we are shocked when many of us predicted this and similar behavior three years ago.

Just wait until SMU pulls an Eric Dickerson on us again and we watch him drive off in a lovely parting gift we bought for him. Or when the sips meet with our star EDGE in the Snook cemetery and gloat for a year with impunity.

My personal favorite will be when somebody, at any school, holds out the week of the natty instead of the week of the spring game in Knoxville.

The melt in any of these scenarios will be glorious.

Exactly. We should not want any reigning in of the current situation of pay for players without any restrictions.

Why would we want it to change when we have the largest, and likely richest fanbase? Maximize the advantages you have.

Growing tired of Dabo and his holier than thou attitude. As long as this system is set up the way it is- you need to adapt or flounder.

Why do we continue to say NIL? WTF, does that even mean? Just say the word contract. Plus I would bet in this age of online classes 75% of these professional athletes never take one class vs having someone else sign up for their classes

The State of Texas has the Texas Common Course Numbering System (TCCNS). There is really nothing that would prevent 1st and 2nd yr students from getting "called up" during the semester.

I foresee A&M, Sip, and Tech using their System schools as Minor Leagues. Implement system wide Offense schemes and assign QBs at Commerce and Tarleton with your #2 and #3. Instead of bringing in a backup who has been on the bench, you callup the guy mid-season.

Classes all transfer...

Your idea sounds incredible silly when you can just evaluate every single player in the country regardless of where they play.

It's criminal that the NCAA allowed sip attorney Charles Alan Wright to head investigations. He stuck it to SMU and Texas A&M, all the while sweeping sip dirt under the rug.
