With the help of ChatGPT I recently submitted a FOIA request to Texas University to inquire about the records related to revenue sharing payments made or planned by the university during the transfer portal period (Dec 20th - Jan 16th).

While the legal affairs department used Texas Gov't code 552.104 to not disclose individual payments and contracts, they did provide that during this period payments made to all sports was $10,549,975.29. It's safe to assume that the majority of that $10mm was for the football program and Cam Coleman was the lion share portion.

The longhorns are easily fielding a $50 million dollar roster which exceeds the maximum amount permitted under the House settlement.

When have rules been for them? During all the chaos of the SWC, I don't recall them getting anything more than a slap on the wrist, while anyone who got good at beating them was punished hard.

I think you are confused. His revshare portion is maybe 100k-500k. Nil will make up the other portion of the 4 million contract. Example 500k Rev share 3.5 million NIL. The Rev share portion is only there to give the nil contract more teeth. Can still pay him whatever they want in NIL funds as long as the boosters have the money. We were going to do the same thing we didn't loose him because of money.

I think the revenue share limit is ~$20M.

I know a booster for an ACC school. This person told me that an ACC AD told him that "no one is taking the revenue share limit serious, they think of it as more if a suggestion". I suspect a lot might have been lost in translation there. I suspect that the AD meant to say that the limit is meaningless because of 3rd party NIL deals. It wouldn't be hard for a program to max out the revenue share and convince boosters to add NIL money on top, which is perfectly legal.

The only limit is the amount that donors are willing to donate.

I didn't see a exact number but if he got 4 million which he got from 3-4 million this is how contract would be structured. See the QB at Washington that's how they were able to keep him and the same reason Duke got
Some buyout money. The nil contract can't be pay for play but rev share can so it's a better contract. It would be the only way to spread 15 million over a 105 roster.

Send about 10 foia's all phrased differently or more deliberately at different points. They will deny you in any way possible but you might catch things you wanted with other requests

ON3 has Coleman 2.5 - 3M post signing. Not sure what Tech offered nor where the 4M comes from short of here. The real answer is nobody except his agent and him know.
