I just joined the 12th Man this last year. I am not in a position yet with my work schedule to travel back and forth to CS for a complete season of home games.

Is there any benefit to 12th Man membership with purchasing single season games? It seems all of the info on the website covers season ticket purchases. Am I overlooking something?

Won't bore you with all the things like building priority points, a decal, the TMF Magazine, but here you go :

  • Access to Donor Ticket Presales: Membership gives you access to special ticket presales before they are released to the general public, allowing you to secure better single-game tickets.
I think that means there will be some 3 game packs that are offered up, but realistically they are for the nose bleed seats for games that are not high in demand. Those seats - you'll probably find online for sale cheaper. There may be an occasionally email sent for an occasional game where seats are still available - but don't expect them for SEC home games.

Much appreciation. Looking at some online tickets and didn't want to wait if 12 Man didn't offer any single game ticket sales soon. I think I will go with Stub Hub until I can start giving $1M/year for good seats.

You get to put a sticker on your truck and gripe a bit louder on TexAgs. And every November you get to say "That's it! Not another dime!"

Do you know what games your hoping to attend this Season? I usually have extra tickets and can sell them to you if you're interested. PM me and we can visit about it.

There are a number of times during the year that, by the mere fact of being a donor, you get access to some ticket sales (may not even be limited to Aggie sports) before the general public. The opportunities in football are pretty limited, but you will see more across all sports.

And, of course, you get the years of consecutive giving priority points (which I'm sure you're already aware of).

Just in case you're not aware, Seat Geek is the "official" partner of Texas A&M - unless it changes this year. Those with season tickets have a very easy time listing tickets on Seat Geek for sale (although the fees to buyers and sellers are pretty steep). Probably the best inventory on the open market. I think that the same function can be used to transfer tics directly to another person and with no fees associated with doing that. I transfer to others occasionally - I just can't remember how I do it, as I'm an aging Special Ops Nav ...

Congrats on joining TMF. If every Aggie donated $150 for Century Club and nothing more, we would dwarf the budget every AD in the country.

Howdy Talondoc! I saw your Post on TexAgs about the 12th Man Membership. I'm FTA C;lass of '77 and I have managed an Aggie Ticket List for about the past 25 years. I also work corroborate with Old Yeller who is a Former Yell Leader. Our main goal is to make sure that our extra Tickets only end up in the hands of fellow Aggies. If you would like to get on my list, PM me your email and I will add you. I am also able to help folks with Bowl Game and Playoff Tickets. Gig'em! Eric von Rosenberg '77

The biggest advantage I see is accumulation of priority points. Even if an individual does not buy season tickets, points continue building. Later in life if you decide to purchase, your points will have built up. These points move you a little higher in the selection order. The $150 annual fee is only worth 5 points per year but yearly continued giving is worth an additional 25 priority points per year. The yearly points continue accumulating as long as you have continued giving.

Here is the warning: if you ever have 1 year you do not give a contribution, ALL priority points are forfeited.

The excerpt below is taken from TMF priority points regulations.

"Allocation of Priority Points
Total Charitable Giving
4 Points for every $100 contributed
Includes Annual Fund contributions, annual seat contributions, endowments, major gifts and other charitable gifts to the 12th Man Foundation.

Years of Consecutive Giving
25 Points per year
Points are awarded for each year of consecutive giving. Points are forfeited in the year consecutive giving ceases."

Not to derail the thread, but my brother in law is a Tennessee guy and we went to the game together at Neyland a couple of years ago and are planning to go to the game at Kyle Field this year.

What do you think would be the best approach for tickets? The budget isn't huge but would prefer to avoid nose-bleed seats, especially since he splurged and got us lower bowl seats at Neyland last time, not far behind the travelling version of the FTAB actually. I'm almost thinking 2nd deck, or lower Zone armchair would be the target.

Unless you luck into someone selling tickets cheap on Texags, the best strategy for affordable resale tickets is usually to buy at the last minute. If you are willing to do that, you will usually come out ahead.
