I was browsing old newspaper articles on BBQ and came across this story mentioning 13-0 hide being sent to A&M. Not sure if posted before, but fun interesting nonetheless. Bevo BBQ.

Ya, is that hide just sitting in someone's attic? Where the hell did it end up?

There isn't enough fanfare or mention nowadays about how following the yearly lone star rivalry game we would kill and eat bevo at a banquet with our tu little brothers. IIRC this tradition lasted until the 50's.

If it still exists, I wonder how much it would go for at a TMF auction.

The equivalent of 12 chicken wraps?

My grandfather wrote the AWH. Pinky died in July of '80, right before my freshman year at A&M
Several years ago, I inherited my grandfather's foot locker from his A&M days. Had a lot of historic A&M-related items in it. One of the items in the locker was a cow horn.
I asked my mom if she knew anything about it but she did not but told me that Pinky had talked about going to the Bevo BBQ.
Always wondered if it is one of the horns off of the original Bevo.
