These idiots who get on social media in a rush to make unsubstantiated posts really grind my gears. I've gotten to where I don't trust anything I read unless it comes from an absolutely reliable source, and even then I have my doubts.

This. Not sure why people think he would come to A&M when he has explicitly been coaching in the NFL.

There have been plenty of NFL coaches who have made their way down to the college ranks.

to be a head coach in the college ranks

Oh like Matt Patricia at OSU?

How about Joe Brady when he went to LSU?

If I make enough predictions, one of them is bound to be true eventually!

I don't have a dog in this fight, but I think the point being made was that Jerrod would be making basically a lateral move as far as responsibilities. Both of the examples you gave - Brady and Patricia - left NFL jobs for what was effectively a promotion from what they had been doing in the NFL (Patricia Sr Def. Asst to DC, Brady off.assistant to passing game coordinator/WR coach). Jerrod would have been going from QB coach with the Texans to QB coach or an offensive analyst position with A&M, which couldn't be viewed as a promotion.
