According to the football team's instagram, there will be a VIP meet & greet event following Saturday's spring game, featuring current players including Bussey. If one of you fine people could do us all a favor and ask him how his injury is progressing, and report back here, that'd be much appreciated. (the event is only open to "Aggie Football Club" members)

He will probably tell you like any athlete in the same situation a bunch of coach speak. Its time to nut-up. Take the team and the program to the next level. No more, feel-good non sense. Results only

A&M made the CFP and lost to a team who eventually played for the NC. So what you're saying is that the only acceptable result is a national championship every year? Because otherwise I'm not sure what "next level" you're talking about

The goal is to start with one and work from there .

Not that one player's answer on an injury situation in a meet and greet has anything to do with team goals .

If we beat Texas then lost to Miami, did we "nut up" as in "Ags squeeze"???

I looked on the website and did not see anything posted (I am probably blind). If I was to take my son, is he able to get autographs on an A&M helmet he wants to bring or does the event provide a signature card and no outside items can be signed?

Looking back it feels a little bit like fools gold. As many have commented we lucked out with a weak SEC schedule - playing 6 of the bottom 7 teams in the final conf standings. Notre Dame win on the road was awesome, but also a very close game - a 1 pt win (due to ND missed XP) on a 4th and goal TD pass with 13 seconds left - a game that easily could have gone either way (don't forget the missed holding call on the winning TD play). LSU and Missouri on the road were quality wins. Losing to tu by 10 with a shot at the conf championship game on the line, and a likely first round bye in the playoffs (and giving tu hope that they might make the playoffs) and then Miami, only scoring 3 points in the programs biggest game in decades, was a major let down at the end of the season. That being said, Miami probably was a better team at the end of the season than many thought before we played them.

If we beat tu, do we get the #7 slot in the playoffs to even face Miami?

Had we beat tu and uga: # 2 seed
Had we beat tu and lost to uga: #4

11-2 is still dang good

I wasn't saying anything about Miami being in the playoffs. My point was had we beaten the sips, we go to Atlanta. Had we beaten UGA, and probably even with a close loss, we're not any lower than the 5 seed. Which means we don't face Miami.

We all want to win just as badly as you do. But if you just want everyone to shut up until we win it all, and if we go 11-2 this year falling short is a failure, etc.........

What a miserable existence. You can want to win every bit as badly as the hardcore guy who makes this statement, but enjoy it more along the way. If you don't, you are doing it wrong.

Stop with this garbage. Everyone does everything they can to downplay our success. It's tiresome. We had the 13-18th hardest schedule in the country depending on what source you use. At least 8 teams in the playoffs had easier ones.

You could put Indiana, the national champs, on our schedule in place of Utah State. You could even assign us a 100% chance to lose to them (it would have been closer to 80%), and we'd have gone 10-2 and still likely made the playoffs with a top 5 schedule nationally. 6/7 bottom teams wouldn't have been the 6/7 bottom teams had they beat us.

Do you know how many teams wouldn't make the playoff every year who did if you broke down their entire schedule and removed a close win, added harder opponents, etc?

Miserable? No, I have higher expectations than you. My expectations are reasonable too. When you factor in the year in and year out pumping by you, the other members, and the writers about how good these teams are, their ceiling, this player is great/Heisman contender, and so on, why wouldn't the expectations be that at an SEC championship isn't attainable? How about a playoff win while at home???

The truth is, Elko has beaten a bunch of bottom half teams. He's caught a bunch of breaks in the first two years as a HC here and I highly doubt thats going to be the case for 2026. So, what will be the excuse this year if I'm right?

Higher? Yes. Reasonable? No lol. Before you can win a NC you gotta start making the playoffs and work through being a winner. Even the most extreme example, which is Cignetti and Indiana, got bounced the year before they won it all. You can't just go from nothing to NC the next year. Outside of this outlier the best coaches to do it, saban, smart, swinney, all took 6 years as a HC before winning it all, 9 years for one of them. It's ridiculous to say "higher expectations" when Elko has had a better record for us every year he has been our HC so far. If and when we don't do that you can question it, but it's stupid to do so now.

Maybe I was a bit too harsh or pessimistic. Only 2nd year head coach and team feels like it's on an upward trajectory. Hoping for the best in year 3 for Elko.
