A sign that banana ball is working? All the Ags excited to inform us they are not a fan of the entertaining program that just sold 102k in a football stadium. If they're talking about you, you're doing something right. It's okay if you're not a fan. So, so many others are. It's sports entertainment which still sells so well.

Yep, my family went. It is a totally different crowd than an MLB game. Way more kids and teenagers.

Banana ball is filling a void that the mlb can't which is making baseball entertaining and fun for a full game with non stop action.

Now that the astros suck again there is no way I'm taking my family to a game with the high potential for them to lose 8-1. It is boring and a waste of time and money.

Recent history has shown that the university has been leaving money on the table. Kyle Field sells out for banana ball, international soccer, and country music concert. I'm glad we're finally putting Kyle to use in the offseason and generating revenue.

We need monster trucks.
How about Hot Wheels Monster Trucks in Reed???

I'm not sure the typical arena reconfigs of the playing surface at Kyle is compatible with our turf design…maybe when we build a dome…

Anyone have pics of the field restoration, or know how they are going about making sure there aren't patch lines?

They'll just cut out that section and lay in new rolls of turf.
I know people in the industry and replacing a field is nothing. They'll have a concert Friday night then drop $200k to completely swap out the field for NFL on Sunday.

We'll just leave it bare dirt like the Raiders used to.

No need. We implemented a retractable field like the Arizona Cardinals.

Monster Jam on Kyle Field or GTFO.

And resodding is a breeze.

If there is money to be made, it can happen. And there are various football stadiums hosting MJ throughout the spring and summer.

Kyle field grass would not be a concern whatsoever.

Question for those that understand the sod industry - could they just bring in a cutter and roll the current sod at Kyle and then roll it back down? Seems like the logical thing to do.

It's kind of hard to believe looking back, but they did have monster trucks in Reed back in 2000. I thought they did it again, but I don't see any other dates that are listed. Link even has pictures of the show in Reed.

Went to the game. Had fun. Don't need to do it again.
Some of the players made some really good plays, but most of the crowd missed it because they were watching the mascot do something or having a little karaoke session.
It was an ADD kid's wet dream. Something going on everywhere all the time with hit songs playing non-stop.

Only complaint was that I missed all of the pre- and post-game activities. Since I'm old and not glued to my phone and social media at all hours of the day, I missed to stuff they did outside of the stadium before and after the game. No real schedule of events or map on their website to help plan.
Overall a good time. I'd recommend for everyone to see them once.

The fact you went once and that's enough... =It's likely just a fad

I have zero interest in going once. I don't feel any desire to watch a quasi-real baseball game full of mediocre players dancing in between plays or doing other assorted tricks/gimmicks. But to each their own.
