Who knows. Maybe we could've developed him.

I don't think it was a development thing. He's just not a linebacker as I noted previously. We actually did get a player very similar to him pretty close at the same time. Martell Harris. Since I was from that area I watched him play a lot of HS football just like I noted about Perkins. They were both very similar. Very athletic, no instinct what so ever. I stated the same on him as well and I'm pretty sure even got scolded by a moderator.

Well, we all saw that Harris did not do anything of significance at A&M.

Game film don't lie and certain positions such as LB you need to show some instincts and intellect.

The NFL analysis says Perkins actually had a decent career at LSU and has a decent shot in the NFL.:

Many on this board need to escape the echo chambers.

Kid looked really good his freshman year playing on the outside.

Perkins quit several times during the 2nd half of games this year. Would just go thru the motions. I don't know why they didn't keep him outside but they paid him alot of money several times to stay so maybe it was worth it to him. Not sure if he is a nil casualty made alot of money and flamed out. Or a success story made alot more money in college then he will in pros.

LOL, I know this is the zoo but to post a stupid link that is instantly countered by where he was actually drafted is just the norm for some that can not do their own critical thinking. And of course they add injury to their own insult by throwing stupid comments at the end. FYI, the only echo is the one in your subconscious that tells you not to make such stupid posts but you keep ignoring it.

That stupid link sure showed that you knew very little about Perkin's game. You simply got served and you know it. Now go on back to your cave little man.

His Prospect Grade of 6.0, according to your link, grades out to "Traits or talent to be above-average backup". From 5-star, National #1 OLB HS prospect to now showing traits or talent to be above-average backup doesn't really bolster your argument that many on this board need to escape the echo chambers. Furthermore, as has been pointed out already, its not an athleticism issue, its a mental issue. And his recent campaign suggests that he isn't willing to put in the mental work to bring his game up to a level that matches his athleticism. My guess is he has a short NFL career (2, maybe 3 years), if he makes a roster, because the league grinds up and spits out the mentally weak.
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

All SEC 2nd team 2x
All SEC 3rd team 1x
Earned #7 at LSU (that means his teammates thought he was pretty good at football)
Drafted in the NFL

Thats better than 100% of the posters who claim " he's not a very good football player", "not really a football player", "had character issues, "lacks hustle, "loafs every chance he gets", "wasn't good in 2nd or 3rd season", etc.

See my point, now? He was a pretty good football player at LSU (an excelkent SEC program by all metrics), and drafted in the NFL (the most successful sports league ever). Not bad for a 21 yr old.

That's fine but look at the trend. Which I think most on here are alluding to - he went from 5-star HS recruit to Freshman All-SEC honors to 2nd team to 3rd team by his final season. He hasn't been the same player since his sophomore season (a major injury will do that), and his late round draft slot - second to last pick in 6th round, proves that. He was a pretty good player at LSU but never really lived up to the hype after his freshman campaign. The schadenfreude is earned from his antics as a recruit and watching him fade down the stretch (and how A&M dominated him the last two games he played against the Ags).
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

I mean, the decommit sucked, but he was young when that all went down. Never enjoy seeing a guy falter or fail to meet their dream.

If they're wearing baby-poo orange or yellow /purple, it is a lot easier for me to be content with the guys faltering some.

And the way his family members acted on that commitment / de-commitment video ... plus he was tight with several of the '22 recruits, and it appeared that he was OK with the hat-burn .... it is easier for me to be OK with him not living up to the hype.

His dream isn't gone ... he's just going to have to work hard(er) for it ... like most successful people in life.

Elite off the edge but can't do anything else and isn't big enough to be an every down DE

Feels like we broke him in 2023 when we just ran right at him with Achane and Achane went for 200+. Was never as good after we laid out the blueprint for beating him

Uh... i hate to break it to you but ALL players drafted in the NFL are very good football players. NFL teams don't play around with any of the picks. Some players are better than others and there are only a few vacancies on each team. Maybe Perkins or York or Scooby arent good players to you, but im sure they'll knock you on your ass and send you to the hospital after a few practices with them.

Um, okay!

He was played as an inside LB at LSU. He was an OLB all the way. He was played in the wrong position his whole college career.

Should someone tell him about the two Africans who were drafted who've never played organized football?

Dont embellish the truth. It was ONE - in the 7th round by Philly.

Uar Bernard from Nigeria. He is built like Myles Garrett. He was evaluated at several international NFL camps the past few years including NFL's IPP pro day where he ran a 4.63 and earned a perfect 10.0 athletic score.

Like I said, the NFL don't play around.
