A quick scan across the SEC reflects no clear leaders.
New coaches, new quarterbacks, and new defenses, are providing Elko a chance to become the man.
A&M may have the most experienced and stable group, especially with Wiggins returning and Klien departing.

Bama new QB
FL new coach
ARK new coach
LSU new coach
Ole Miss new coach
Auburn new coach

Oregon and Ohio State have the edge in the BIG, but the SEC is wide open.

I dont think so. I know it hurts but Texas is in a National Championship or bust season. They are absolutely loaded everywhere. I fully expect them to win it this year.

There are two schools who are clear preseason frontrunners. We all know exactly who they are

Tu fans think they are loaded just like last year. Arch is still their QB and has a bad track record on the road. Zero wins without OT in 5 road games. Their portal adds may not be upgrades over the ones they ran off. Muschump is not a better coach than the DC who left. They have train wreck written all over them. They could be 6-6 but they won't be a playoff team. Georgia is still the favorite but we are close.

It's going to be a blood bath. Top SEC team will have at least 2 losses.

Sigh. You said the exact same last year amd I tried to make a wager with you but you ignored it. If you are so confident about what you say, let's wager.

They've beat us two years in a row and there's a bunch here that still say they suck.

Everyone here is optimistic that Marcel will have improved. That same logic doesnt apply to a QB thats played in two games against A&M and won both games

texas will be good, no doubt. Question is, will we be as good or maybe even a little better this year? Time will tell. Those wanting to talk trash about t.u. may want to hold off until we actually beat them on the field.

That's not how fandom works, cuz. Beat the hell out of those no talent, bohemian, patchouli wearin', hairy hacks!!

Proceed...

Let's be honest, he played 1 game against A&M and won. Getting in 2 snaps in 2025 doesn't count as a win for Arch.

Lol zero wins without OT... I hate them too, but this level of goalpost mobility is funny no matter what.

Moving goalpost, but stat is helpful If we won 10 games in a season and they were all in overtime, I would be worried about that QB next year. Happy, but worried. His road game were either losses or coin tosses.

Ags just need improved QB play. Someone that will HELP us when a few tough games .

No they don't. Every relatively tough game they have is at home except for LSU (unknown how that's going to pan out) and us, and we haven't proven to be much of a roadblock for them. They should cakewalk to 10 wins unfortunately unless we grow some sack and step up

I hope and pray they are the preseason #1 team.

Let's take a deep breath and see who's the #1 team when the season is over.

If it's tu, then congrats. I'll hate it, but congrats.

Ags are the clear SEC favorites and it's not even close. More experienced Marcel, new OC, revamped O-line. Elko's got this train rolling. Hop on!

Yep, 100% correct. He also scored a TD in that game. How many total TDs does Marcel have in 2 complete games against ut-Austin?

LOL

We can agree to disagree. Josh Pate also disagrees with you rating their schedule the hardest of all this season.

You know those games last year against state and Kentucky that they squeked by, Ole Miss with Chambliss is nothing like either of those teams and at Tennessee. Surely Mateer will be healthy and we have them at home. At Mizzou, at LSU. And wait, Ohio State a well!

Fudge man, you really missed on this one.

Marcel's last 2 games: 0 TDs, 4 INTs.

But yeah, let's keep making fun of Arch (nearly identical stats in 2025, but w/ fewer INTs).

Oh

There's one post and you melted about it. FYI, Ags might make fun of the sips from time to time. Knock yourself out being the gate keeper.

LOL. "Loaded"… No. Sips are about to lose 4 or 5 games. They've finally got a hard schedule. They've gone from 3 tough games to now 5 tough games. Their roster does not impress me and especially their QB.

Arch sucks. But he manages to run well. He was 47% completion against A&M.

as if anyone is praising Marcel. Both can be mid. Though I'd say Reed's ceiling is higher for this season.

I would have to expect Bama to be almost unphased by Simpson's departure when they have studs behind him that probably would have started at a lot of SEC teams this past season if not for Simpson being the senior QB. Mack and Russell are both no joke and I think one of them will probably be as good this year as Simpson was last year.

Lsu, we see early and with Kiffin having more talented roster than he has ever had to work with, I see this as a problem being that we are replacing our OL sans Nabou. When you replace 80% of your OL, you have to expect a step back and have to work it up during Sept but we don't have that luxury especially going to a 9 SEC game slate and starting our SEC schedule in game 3 and having to travel to the bayou for the week 4 face off with Kiffin and his best roster ever.

Curious how new coach/QB is predictive of the season ahead..especially given how our own program had one of its best season(2012) with an entirely new coaching staff and QB. It's surprising how many programs improve dramatically in a head coach's first year and/or with a new QB. This was true before NIL and is still true today(see Cignetti's first season season before last as another example).

If anything I see the programs mentioned(Florida, Ole Miss, LSU, Bama especially) as even MORE of a threat with new coaching staffs and/or new QBs. The SEC will be wide open but only because those programs should be dramatically improved.

The difficulty in their schedule is the no weeks off component that starts early due to the time of their bye. My thought is they will be beaten down by weekly games against teams better than they are accustomed to facing, and at the end at Kyle, they may have the better team on paper but the Ags will beat them. Recall OT to beat a couple of bottom feeders on the road last year, and a loss to a team we doubled up.
