Going down the ramp in Kyle back in the 90s on roller blades after a night out on Northgate was awesome. Yes, an emergency room or two but worth it.

Won't work with boots

Third person with the apron in the original video is doing it right. You need to use both feet, not just one. Some of those videos are sped up, but it does generally work. I do it all the time but have almost a little hop when I do it, and I won't do it without holding onto a hand rail. You can really fly down stairs, but you better have a railing to grab.
Slightly catching an edge of your shoe going that fast will not be pretty. You can get from the upper concourse to the ground in ~30 seconds if nobody is impeding you.

The steps at my high school were so worn down and smooth that you could basically glide down.
