The 2026 season Coach Elko called a gauntlet, and it looks very difficult. Nine SEC games was a terrible idea.

Game that sets the direction.
Arizona State is going not going to be a cupcake, with a 2.5 million dollar QB, Cutter Boley.
6-5 220 - 67% completion percentage, but tends to throw INT's. They will be hungry to beat an SEC team, it might only take a few bad pass interference calls to tilt this game.

Game that determines the playoff.
Alabama on the road, will be a playoff make or break game, as Alabama has the easiest SEC schedule.

10-2 is not only possible, it is likely.
11-1 is possible, although not likely.

Two years ago, we went 8-5, last year we went 11-2. So obviously this year we're going 14 - -1.

I wasn't impressed by Cutter Boley last year. I think we pick him at least once and he gets flustered by pressure

There wwill be a 3 loss SEC team in the playoffs this season. Perhaps 2.

9-3 and Elko deserves another extension.

Agree. I actually think we'll be better than last year and if this was a 8 game schedule, I'd say 10 should be the expectation. That said, with that extra game, I expect another loss with the way the schedule lays out. We should be happy to get 2 wins out of that final 5, which make l$u the key game on my books.

I like Elko. I think we've got a good team, but this looks like and 8-2 start that ends 8-4.

Maybe this is the year that breaks the curse, but I'm afraid last year was the real opportunity and we blew it thanks to a freaking wind storm and a really bad day.

I'm sure Reed bent us over for more than $2.5M (and I don't blame him), so we should be good for the Az St game.

Just like Arizona State was hungry in their game versus 1-7 in the sec Mississippi State last season with a first round draft pick receiver, LSU's current qb1, and tu's current rb 1… and still couldn't win

I think our floor is 7-5 and ceiling is 10-2 with likely road losses at Alabama and Oklahoma, and swing games against LSU (away), South Carolina (away), and Texas (home). Hopefully, we can beat Texas for the first time since 2010 and at Kyle Field for the first time since 2007 and go at least 9-3.

It sucks that the wind storm only affected us and not the other team

We've been eating a steady diet of this for a really long time.

Time to move on from assuming a blue blood is a likely W over the good guys...

Ou and tu are not blessed with good QBs. Arch has terrible road stats and he plays at Tennessee, LSU, Missouri and the Texas Aggies this year. He gets Florida and Ole Miss at home along with Ohio State. That's got 6-6 written all over it. These are our last 2 regular season games. We could be 10-0 or 9-1 when we go to Norman, where we haven't lost since 2010.

I will accept 9-3 considering the schedule. That should get you a CFP spot.

And absolutely Marcel is a good QB. Thing is, is he a great QB? We need a great QB this year to make a run into the CFP 100%. We r rebuilding our lines so Reed will need to be smart with his legs.

He was 5-1 in road games with better stats than Archy who was 0-3-2 on the road in regulation.

tu is counting on Cam Coleman and 2 journeymen RBs to be better than the WR and RBs they ran off. I'm not expecting much from the new bunch. Cam wasn't very good at Auburn last year and arch isn't exactly accurate.

I'm looking forward to everyone playing an extra game that actually matters. At some point people are gonna have to figure out that great W columns don't make great football teams.

But they won't

They'll still reward the teams with the smallest numbers in the L column

Nine SEC games is a great idea. The fewer sisters-of-the-poor we play, the better. Do you want to be a good team? Or do you just want to have what is perceived to be a good record?

He's an Aggie. Its just that other Aggies cant handle him being objective.

I don't know

the committee loves bright and shiny 11-1 and 10-2 records from the ACC and BDF

Yes. Twice over, actually.
TexAgs used to be able to handle objectivity. The Arch-obsessed threads are just lazy and factually inaccurate when you are claiming how "bad" he is in order to prop up Marcel.

Re: the poster saying how bad t.u. will be b/c of Arch; let's look at some data:

Through SEC and bowl/playoff games, one QB had 17 TDs and 4 INTs. Another QB had 16 TDs and 11 INTs (4 in his last 2 games). Which QB was Arch? Which was Marcel?

This will come down to how badly the B1G skews the schedules of their better teams so that they don't have to play each other. With 18 teams and a lot of bottom feeders, they can easily schedule it to where they can have at least four or five teams at 10-2 or better.
Don't let the committee rhetoric full you, they will go off record first and foremost and not how tough your schedule is/was.
