The Texas/Ohio St game had already been set for 6:30 on 9/12, so there was never a much of a chance of a night game on that day.

We already know September 26th will likely be a night game in BR.

NEWSFLASH: Every single team in the country wants ALL their home games to be at night and they don't want to play ANY road games at night.

The whining is never ending. SMH.

The kickoff time for the Mizzou game has not been announced.

All night home games vs. those at night on the road balance out throughout most seasons and most certainly do over the period of a couple of seasons.

UGA has SIX 11:00 kickoffs during one of their natty seasons. It happens.

People do not understand an 11:00 kick on ESPN or ABC is selected near the top of the network pecking order. It's much better in terms of exposure than a 3:00 game on the SEC Network or a 6:30 slot on ESPNU.

If you're a fan of the team, show up when they say show up. If it's too much for you, stay home. It truly doesn't get any simpler than that.

One thing I miss about living on the west coast was being able to go to the grocery store, pick up some various liquors, mixers, etc. and start watching college football at 9AM.

Yes, I was a lush.

Personally, I like to tailgate in the cool of the morning

But I only live 20 minutes from Kyle Field so the 11 AM game works for me

We should wear white at home during the first month's games. Way too hot for dark jerseys now.

Y'all don't start sounding like Hunter Yurachek, the Pigs AD. He's already released a statement in his displeasure of the 9:15PM CST kickoff at Utah and the 11AM kickoff, the following Saturday, at home vs. UGA. He wants something done about it. I've already told my Pig buddies that when you go 2-10, you have zero credibility and they bring zero value to the SEC. He's but a piece of gum on the bottom of the SEC's shoe. Let's not sound like that pantywaste.

It's the same time.

All things relative. Most of their businesses open at 9:00 eastern and close at 6:00pm eastern (vs. 8-5 here). Their late local news starts at 11:00p.m., etc.

THIS!!!!!!!!

The team and the coaches are excited to play whenever the networks say play. If the handful of fans who can't go 5 minutes without whining about something can't check their entitlement at the door, they just need to pipe down and watch from home.

Unfortunately, it may take a player's death from heat stroke for the administration or SEC to figure out early season afternoon games aren't beneficial to anyone, player or fan. When I was a newly minted New Army, I always heard that old Ag's wanted early games so they could drive from Houston or Dallas and return home at a reasonable hour...that was before hotel rooms were available in quantity (Class of '81 here) but times have changed. Wally Groff once mentioned the favor of day games because not turning on the lights at Kyle Field was a cost savings measure. Actually, we weren't sure if Groff knew where the light switch was located. R.C. comes out and states that there was so much bird/bat droppings and nests that turning on the lights was probably a hazard. How many years were the Kyle Field stadium front lights stayed dark due to issues?

Maybe someone knows the secret to LSU's home game times predetermined selection. (see below) Whoever is responsible for scheduling our home game times isn't very clever, has no sense of using other people's data as leverage, is unwilling to stand up to SEC Office (if the SEC office controls the times) and if our person is paid for performance of their job, they don't deserve a raise. Maybe hire LSU's game scheduler.....just a thought..

Death from heat stroke? Are you serious?

Also, yes, the Mouse picks the game times (not a 'scheduler'), but everyone that's followed SEC football for any length of time knows LSU is going to get night games way more often than not due to tradition.

"Death from heat stroke? Are you serious?"........How I know you know zero about medical situations without asking you..

" Also, yes, the Mouse picks the game times (not a 'scheduler'), but everyone that's followed SEC football for any length of time knows LSU is going to get night games way more often than not due to tradition.".....Mouse hasn't been picking games for as long as LSU has been playing night games. Mouse is a new comer to college football broadcasting not an ol'Timer. If it's not purposely built (game time selection) on "tradition" then changing their game time format should be a breeze, no? History says it's tradition and you can take it up with AI or the LSU AD if you differ.

  • Sept. 16: vs. Indiana 1:30 PM Indiana (LSU won, 24-17)
  • Sept. 23: vs. Wake Forest 1:30 PM (LSU won, 13-11)
  • Oct. 14: vs. Georgia 1:30 PM (LSU lost, 24-17)
  • Nov. 4: vs. Ole Miss 1:30 PM (LSU won, 30-8)
  • Nov. 18: vs. Tulane 1:30 PM (LSU won, 40-21)
  • Nov. 25: vs. Wyoming 1:30 PM (LSU won, 24-17)
  • LSU enabled its historic tradition of playing night games by installing stadium lights in 1931. The move was originally designed to escape the oppressive Louisiana heat and humidity and to allow local sugarcane farmers and offshore oil rig workers to attend games after finishing their daytime work. (AI)
  • Over the decades, LSU solidified and protected this scheduling advantage through a few key steps(AI)
  • Regional Broadcasting: Early radio broadcasts by 50,000-watt station WWL New Orleans reached massive audiences at night, expanding the team's footprint and making night games a lucrative brand.(AI)
  • Field Markings: In 1946, legendary radio broadcaster John Ferguson successfully requested that LSU Athletics paint yard markers every 5 yards. This enabled him to accurately call the action for radio listeners under the early, less-than-perfect lighting systems.(AI)
  • Television Assurances: As television networks increasingly controlled kick-off times, LSU fought to preserve its tradition. In 2014, LSU Athletics secured agreements with the SEC and television executives to ensure a preponderance of their games would kick off under the lights. (AI) (Scheduler knew what to do with SEC Office)
  • Continuous Upgrades: Today, LSU continues to optimize its night-game environment. LSU Athletics has modernized Tiger Stadium with a state-of-the-art LED lighting system that produces in-game light shows, complementing the massive North Endzone video board.(AI)
  • Google is your friend.
  • The first radio broadcast of a Texas A&M football game took place on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1921, during the Aggies' rivalry matchup against the University of Texas at Kyle Field. It also stands as the first live, play-by-play broadcast of a college football game in the state of Texas.
  • Kyle Field: The first game to have lights was Sept. 17th, 1949.
  • Permanent color-changing LED lights were installed at Kyle Field ahead of the 2025 college football season. The system officially made its debut on August 30, 2025, during Texas A&M's season opener against the UTSA Roadrunners
  • LSU has nothing on Texas A&M. It's human mindsets of "that's the way it's always been" is a self defeating stance. To the poster above noting we can go back to the old way of no TV games....LOL!.....Move to Big 10 and see that night games are negotiated into our contract. Texas A&M made ESPN a power house in college football coverage in ESPN's beginnings,.....if you were around to witness it. They know first-hand we draw the eyeballs/tv viewers, we just don't have someone standing up for us. Too much go along to get along and you'll receive what they want to "give" you....and you're gonna like it..

I knew ABC would select the Ohio State vs Texas game for the 6:30 PM slot. It would have made more sense for this game to be at 2:30 PM than 11:00 AM. I will be going to the Kentucky game, but I am glad kickoff is at 2:30 PM instead of 11:00 AM.

The television windows for all remaining SEC-controlled games will be officially announced on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Rather than fixing exact kickoff times months in advance, this release assigns every remaining game into one of four designated timeframes:

Early Window: Starts between Noon and 1:00 p.m. ET.

Afternoon Window: Starts between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET.

Night Window: Starts between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. ET.

Flex Games: Select high-profile matchups will be tagged to air in either the Afternoon or Night window

I hope we get the night or flex windows for the home games against Arkansas and Tennessee.

I know there have been some that occurred at practices, asking about games.
