I recommend listening to Ted Cruz podcast for today (May 29), the Verdict. He goes into good detail about the bill he has filed. Many of us believe that NIL and transfer portal are ruining college sports. His bill makes a lot of sense.

He just had his 25th wedding anniversary and starts the show with that, so FF to about the 12 minute point. If you're not familiar with his podcast, his cohost is Ben Ferguson who played tennis at Ole Miss. He adds some good insight from his experience

The problem in college football is it's a $15B/yr business that isn't being run like a real business. The solution is simple, run it like a real business. The largest 20-30 programs (by football income) need to form a league; a league with rules. The smaller programs should also form their own leagues based on program size.

I think it is a perfect time to mimic European soccer and create relaxation leagues where the bottom x teams from the top league are forced to drop down to next league down. That would make every game matter.

That is dumb. Doing something that eurotrash commies do is never the answer.

Just need some type of anti trust law to make these contracts legit. Would also be nice to have some cap on money to high school recruits. That would hurt us but would be beneficial for the game as a whole. Football is unlike baseball and basketball because you really know how good a player is until he is on campus practicing in pads. 7 on 7 and camps help but nothing matters until you put the pads on. You never get elite on elite to judge anything in High School. 5stars online men blocking kids that will be in the Army next year or joining a frat makes it hard to make a multi million dollar business decision on.
