Great iron! Don't hesitate to buy, but know the lofts are strong so you are really hitting 4i through say 9.5 iron. You can adjust the lofts to fit your current lofts, but many are deceived that they are hitting it farther than their current irons. Forgiving head from a great brand! Enjoy

Man, those are strong lofts. When did Mizuno join the rest of the manufacturing world in delofting their irons?

They are about 5 degrees stronger than my trusty old MP-60s.

Finally caved to the rest of the golf industry. These YouTubers who review clubs that compare one manufacturers 7i to another are not comparing apples to apples. One's 7 iron might be another's 5 iron. I will admit that I do compete in WLD, but when I can take a 7 iron from a players improvement head for extra distance and hit it 230 yds. It's not a 7 iron! It's really a 5 iron. My ping Blueprints in retro lofts is what I use now which match up to the lofts I used as a junior golfer in the 80's and 90's and similar to the rest of the Mizuno family like you mentioned are more realistic. The modern golfer is being feed a line of bull. Jack Nicklaus used lofts more like what I use. You can't compare the distance that Jack hit a 7 iron to the distance Rory hits his 7 iron because the lofts are different along with the balls and shafts. People have been told that a 3 iron is too hard to hit, but you are really hitting a 3i that just is stamped with a 5 on it! Wake up people.

This got me curious. I checked Mizuno's website and the 241s, 243s and 245s all have stronger lofts. However, it looks like they have a new iron this year - S-3 - that is very close to the old "Standard" lofts.

All this being said, Mizuno clubs are beautiful and I'm sure whoever buys these will love them.

The clubs are great! Just be aware of the stronger lofts. Makes people feel good when they hit a 7 iron as far as they did when they were younger. I would love to have this set but I definitely don't need any extra distance. My Ping Blueprints (retro lofts) PW is 48 degrees while my 5 iron is 29 degrees. The Mizuno pro 245 are PW 43 degrees and 5 iron is 24 degrees. The PW is closer to my 8 iron loft and the 245 5 iron is in between my 4 iron and 3 iron lofts.
