I'm thinking about buying tickets for the whole family.

But if this is one of those things where the starters stay home and the subs get to play I'll save the $250. Anybody know what the case might be?

Considering most of the big-name players on both sides played the WC, I'd guess several sit out. Some might not even travel with the team.

I've generally been underwhelmed by the pre-season action I've seen stateside. Not exactly the strongest sides, and everyone is generally going at around 60%.

Having said that... it's one of the only chances you'll get to see the club in person. I guess it just depends on how much that means to you.

I haven't seen them announce their US Tour squad. I was basically waiting for that. The tickets are still fairly cheap so I figured I would wait. I would expect Messi to join up with the US squad at some point, but no clue when/where. I'll probably go anyway because it's live soccer.....and it's indoors.

Their first match is 7/28 and they'll come over 4 days or so ahead of that. Probably mid/late next week you'll know who is on the plane. That doesn't mean some of the WC stars won't come later individually. I'd just follow them on Twitter and they'll comment on who is coming and who is expected to play and when. Honestly, I'd just buy tickets and go and not worry about it.

There is a small chance Messi could be there since Argentina was knocked out early. I know Arsenal has Ozil, Iwobi and Elneny all traveling to Singapore next week for their tour so players could be back for it.

I don't expect anyone good to be playing but I still bought tickets. YOLO.

You're always going to get lesser participation on WC years. Sucks but the clubs are all resting their big names right now.

Barca face Tottenham in Los Angeles on Saturday in the International Champions Cup, when Malcom could make his debut for his new club. However, if he's not included in the squad for that game, he could, coincidentally, come into the reckoning for the Blaugrana's match against Roma in Dallas next week.

It would add even more intrigue to the fixture at the AT&T Stadium, given Barca will already have one eye on avenging last season's shock Champions League exit at the hands of the Serie A side.
