Is Texas good this year? Chris Henderson picked them to win the Big 12 and they just tied UNC on the road.

In the preseason rankings, United Soccer Coaches had the Longhorns at #17. Top Drawer had them at #24. Don't forget that Texas was a seeded team in last year's NCAA Tournament (albeit after missing the previous couple of tournaments).

Despite their performance last weekend, the Horns dropped to #21 in the United Soccer Coaches poll (but went up to #21 in Top Drawer Soccer's). If seeing Texas getting props isn't nauseating enough, Baylor is also ranked. Here are this week's rankings:

Yes, Texas is legitimate this year. Last year they were fool's gold because of an easy schedule, but this year they look much improved and played UNC very tough on the road. Texas' recruiting has really improved as well and they have serious talent coming in 2021. They will be a factor nationally in the near future.

The Florida loss was a surprise.

Just noticed Ohio State's first 3 matches were Duke (0-2), UNC (0-2), and UF (1-0). Doesn't get much tougher than that.

Texas beat #23 UCF 2-1 on the road in OT.

Im not convinced on Texas' greatness yet. I watched a majority of the UNC and UCF game and felt like they were being dominated. UNC had a ton of chances but just missed the mark. I was actually more impressed with UNC because I thought they have been downhill (in terms of they're not the best of the best but still really good). I did miss the Texas goal so I'm not too sure what their build up was like.

For the UCF game it was more even in play but Texas won on a conterversial offsides goal. AR raised his flag for offsides, but the Ref overruled which led to a goal. I do think Hintzen will be a star and that may be the reason Texas will go far. I do see them easily winning the Big 12 due to the lack of overall good competition.

McNasty over Arkansas? Geez that's something you don't want to see for RPI purposes. Didn't Arkansas just play a WVU team with very high expectations to a tie??

Horrific loss for Arkansas. Don't understand that one at all.

Butler did the same thing to us last year.
