Your Aggies close out the regular season tonight on the road. They face the #14 South Carolina Gamecocks live on the SEC Network at 6PM Central.

The Gamecocks are 12-3-1 on the season with a 6-2-1 mark in conference play. Both losses have been head scratchers, as SC dropped a match 1-2 at Mississippi State and lost 1-2 this past Sunday at LSU. The Gamecocks return home for this match however, where they are a perfect 10-0 on the season. Compare that to A&M's 2-2-1 mark on the road.

South Carolina has outscored opponents 25-7 through the season and have tallied 12 total shutouts. South Carolina has only been shutout themselves 1 time this season, that came in a scoreless tie at Vanderbilt. The Gamecocks average 1.56 goals per game, with the goals coming from several different players.

Sophomore midfielder, Lauren Chang has a team high 6 goals on the season along with 2 assists. 2 of those goals came from PKs. Freshman Selma Sol Magnusdottir has team high with 7 assists. 3 of her 4 goals have proved to be gamewinners this season.

Mika Krzeczowski has played in goal for all 16 games this season. She has allowed 7 goals while making 35 saves. She has only allowed multiple goals 3 times this season (2 at NC State, at Miss State, at LSU). Kreczowski's goal against average is .43. Krzeczowski and her superlative defensive unit have totaled 10 shutouts this season. Krzeczowski herself has 34 shutouts in her career, which is the most in school history.

South Carolina has a stingy defense and a top goal keeper, but they are particularly stout unit at home - where they have allowed just ONE GOAL against them this season (they have outscored opponents 19-1 in Columbia this season). This will be a tough order for the reeling Aggies.

Almost forgot the all-important all-time record stat:

This year we've been able to tell in the first 10 minutes how a game is gonna go. If we don't come out on fire tonight then I doubt we'll get the win.

Will be a much tougher task if Watt or Alston are still out. I expect them both to be back even if not at 100%.

I have a test at 7:45pm tonight so hopefully we run-rule them in the first half.

I'm not seeing the lack of hustle that was evident at the begging of our other losses, but our passing is terrible so far. Hopefully that'll get a little better as they settle into the game.

Not a great half, but not a terrible one either. Just need settle down a little bit, take the space they give us, and make better passes.

They were nice enough to delay my connecting flight in a Dallas until the end of the first half.

Not a bad half, we certainly had some opportunities. The chance by Ally Watt was a great individual effort and she played it perfectly. No luck though.

Defense was good enough. We converged on the ball and did plenty to frustrate South Carolina. I'm pleased with what we saw, especially toward the end of the half. I'd like to see more passes through the midfield. It would be nice to get a goal on a set piece. That's been a crutch for us this year.

I guess my definition of "great possession" is a little different than G's.

Pillow fight neither team wants or needs this game

Watt refusing to use her left foot is the reason why she missed the wide open look in the box. Had to turn her hips to use her right foot and pushed it wide.

A&M will now finish 6th in the league without a win tonight. That's pretty astonishing.

Watt is such a wonderful player in so many ways but she lacks the foot skills necessary to truly excel at the next level. It's evident with her play at A&M. I'm a huge fan but would love to see her develop her left foot and work on her mental game. She can run by almost every player she comes up against but she simply doesn't do it. That speed can set her for more goals or lead to passes from her to her teammates.
