First time to watch this year. Lopez has been amazing. Hill is a great defender. Defense looks good we need work on final third

She is probably a great player just got frustrated with her trying to beat multiple defenders when several players were open for good shots

Cal St Northridge was no match for A&M tonight, so it was more of a scrimmage at times with almost the entire roster seeing plenty of minutes.

  • Taylor Ziemer is really finding a home at center mid and she was terrific tonight. She is very strong on the ball and made good decisions all night with accurate passes. She also has the strongest leg on the team and had another couple of rocket shots that just missed the target. She did have a nice finish in the second half from a great run and cross from Katie Smith and setup by Rheagan Smith. And another goal early in the first half off a CSUN mistake in the back. Taylor is improving in every game so that is a really good sign for the midfield going forward.
  • Karlina Sample was stout in the back and impossible to get past for CSUN forwards. I lost count at the number of times she shutdown any forays into A&M's box. She is just so strong once she gets a foot on the ball and opponents fall away from her quickly. And with Jordan Hill also having a strong night with hustle and multiple stops, it was encouraging to see the 3-back set have success, albeit against an overmatched opponent.
  • Ali Russell is just fun to watch. She doesn't always do the right thing out there, but she is just a fireball of activity, chasing everything down and outhustling everyone on the field. Once she learns how to control the ball under pressure and get more shots on goal, she is going to be a great player.
  • Lopez had her best game of the young season, just dominating her side of the field and creating many good crosses into the box from her left mid position. She has improved her instincts on the ball and decision making, which playing internationally all Summer with Mexico has sharpened her skills. She also had the best goal of the night with a perfectly executed header off a corner.
  • Asdis was much more active tonight and had a nice game. She had 4 corner kicks in a row and almost scored on one of them. Watt had a quiet night as CSUN was focused on her quite a bit, which did open up the field for her teammates.
  • I know it's early but I'm getting concerned about Addie McCain. It's possible I'm just missing it, but I just haven't seen the active player from last year emerge yet. She has talent and skill on the ball. We need to get her going soon if the midfield is going to be competitive in the tough matches this season. I think she'll come around though.
  • Hutton had a boring night and didn't have to make a save. However, the continued concern about playing around with the ball in the back to her defenders is going to cost us a game this season if she doesn't start kicking the ball up field. And the back line doesn't help with all the backward passing and mistakes that create turnovers. It has to get cleaned up.

Abilene Christian is probably a better team than CSUN so they should push A&M a bit more on Sunday.

It was great to see everyone get to play. I didn't think G would take Shantel out with a shutout going but she almost fixed that with a risky throw with about 15 minutes to go. Besides Jimena, Macie Kolb really stood out to me, and Katie Smith had a great cross to set up the last goal. Katie Smith and Asdis started at Santa Clara but were replaced early in the first half, so it's nice to see them earn their way back on the field. I would have like to see Jenna return in the second half, but who would she have replaced since the front 7 were substitutes?
Daria Britton looked very steady when she came in.

Sure glad the coaches are better at assessing talent than you. Cant believe someone comes on here and calls any of these players terrible.

Rheagen Smith is doing fine. She had 2 great unselfish assists over the weekend and got the start yesterday.
What I like is that she is able to dribble the ball and shield off the defender (stiff-arm) and draws a lot of fouls in the offensive end that way.
C-Sun beat Houston yesterday 2-1.
