Yea I know. It sucks to think about. But from what I am hearing from the people that I believe on this matter is that public gatherings will be restricted far longer than schools/Little Leagues, etc. At least they will if the medical community wins.
I don’t say this in a braggedocious way. But it’s true. I’ve been right about everything.

Looks as though they are wanting to finish the PL season during the summer. We shall wait and see what unfolds.

Okay, let's get the time machine cranked up and get the season going once again. Will be interesting to see what effect the three month lay off had on these teams, how playing without fans will change games and how the new sub rules will help or hurt teams.

My inclination is that teams at the top and bottom who really have something to play for will come out interested, and those teams in the middle will come out a bit disinterested, but we shall see.

The good news is that all the games are being spaced out so that they will all be viewable on television. But the format of my update might need to change a bit too, since games will be coming at a rapid rate and played throughout the week. I will try and do a Monday or Tuesday update every week with a recap and look forward.

Current Relegation Standings:
Club Games Played Points
15. Brighton & Hove Albion 29 29
16. West Ham 29 27
17. Watford 29 27
18. Bournemouth 29 27
19. Aston Villa 28 25
20. Norwich 29 21

Key Relegation Matches this week:

Wednesday:
Aston Villa v. Sheffield United (Villa Park, Noon, NBCSN). Villa will kick off the return to matches by hosting Sheffield United in a make up game. The season has gone vastly differently for these two promoted clubs, with Sheffield fighting for a Champions League place and Vill fighting for survival. The away side has won only two of the last 30 Premier League meetings between two promoted clubs (D8 L20), with Aston Villa and Sheffield Utd both winning at Norwich City this season. Following their 2-0 win at Bramall Lane in the reverse fixture in December, Sheffield Utd are looking to secure their first league double over Aston Villa since 1965/66. Sheffield Utd have lost only two of their 13 away matches in the Premier League this season (W4 D7), with those defeats coming against the current top two sides in Liverpool and Manchester City. A win by Villa would pull them out of the bottom 3.

Friday:
Norwich City v. Southampton (Carrow Road, Noon, NBCSN). The Canaries will be looking to start an epic run on Friday, which is what it will likely take for them to avoid relegation, as they sit in 20th position, 6 points behind 17th, with 9 matches remaining. Southampton will be one of those clubs that will be interesting to watch and see their level of interest, as they currently are secure in 14th place, with a 7 point lead over 18th. Southampton beat Norwich 2-0 in the December fixture at St. Mary's, but this match will be seen as a must win by the
Canaries. Norwich has only scored 4 PL goals in 2020, and never more than one in a game, so expect a low scoring, hard fought effort on Friday.

Saturday:
Watford v. Leicester (Vicarage Road, 6:30am, NBCSN). Watford look to get off to a strong start following the break, as they welcome Leicester to Vicarage Road. Leicester currently sit 3rd on 53 points, and will be eager to claim wins to secure their spot in next year's Champions League. Watford did give Liverpool their first defeat of the PL season before the break, so they know how to play against the top clubs. Goal differential is they only thing keeping the Hornets out of the relegation zone. The Foxes won 2-0 in December when the two clubs played at King Power Stadium.

Brighton v. Arsenal (Amex Stadium, 9am, NBCSN). Brighton welcome Arsenal to the south coast for the traditional 3pm Saturday game. This will be Arsenal's second match back, as they are playing a make up game with Man City on Wednesday. Arsenal will be one of the teams that will be interesting to watch and gauge their interest in playing, as they currently sit 9th, although they do have a chance to get up into European football position. Brighton had drawn 3 of their last 4 matches before the break, pulling themselves out of a relegation spot, so they will be hoping to continue their somewhat improved form. Brighton took home a 2-0 win at the Emirates when the clubs met in December, so a win on Saturday would be a great one for the Gulls.

West Ham v. Wolves (London Stadium, 11:30am, NBC). The Hammers continue their seemingly endless battle against relegation on Saturday, hosting a resurgent Wolves squad that is looking for a Champions League spot itself. West Ham had only won 1 of their last 9 matches before the break, so they will hope that their season will get of to a better start this time around. The Wolves pose a tough challenge, one that saw West Ham lose 2-0 at the Molineaux in December.

Bournemouth v. Crystal Palace (Vitality Stadium, 1:45pm, NBC Gold). The Cherries will host mid-table Palace in what should be seen as a must win game for Bournemouth. As detailed before the break, Bournemouth have a difficult schedule for the remainder of the season, so home games against mid-table clubs are really important for the Cherries. Palace's place for next year is all but secure, and there is no real chance of getting a European spot, so they will be one of those clubs whose interest, or lack thereof, could go a long way in determining the relegation battle. Palace did beat Bournemouth 1-0 in December.

Sunday:
Aston Villa v. Chelsea (Villa Park, 10:15am, NBCSN). Villa will host their second match of the week against a club looking for a Champions League spot, this time hosting Chelsea. Chelsea currently sit in 4th position, with a 3 point cushion over 5th place Man United, so claiming 3 points in this match against a relegation battling club will be seen as vital. How vill come out and attack will be interesting to watch, as they currently are worst in the league in goals against, having allowed 56 goals in 28 matches, for a 2 goal a game average. Chelsea did win 2-1 win the clubs met at Stamford Bridge in December.

That will get us through the weekend, I will look to provide an update Monday before next week's busy mid-week schedule.

Enjoy the return of the PL and the relegation battle!

The 2 points that goal would have provided are gold for Sheffield since they are fighting tooth and nail for a Euro spot. Can't believe how badly the ref, VAR, etc bungled that.

Aston Villa 0-0 Sheffield United.
Villa can count themselves fortunate to claim a point today at Villa Park as Sheffield were robbed on a clear goal that the goal line technology somehow missed. Keinan Davis headed over the bar on 11 minutes while Kortney Hause also had a chance from a corner.
In the 42nd minute, Villa goalkeeper Orjan Nyland caught Oliver Norwood's curling free-kick and stumbled back over his goalline. Sheffield United's players appealed for a goal but referee Michael Oliver waved them away after he received no alert from the Goal Decision System.
The point takes Sheffield United to sixth, on 44 points, while Villa stay 19th, now on 26 points.

Was a busy weekend in the relegation battle. Watford and Brighton each helped their cause significantly with last minute goals, while Aston Villa looked to help themselves only to fall apart for a few minutes, seeing 3 points turn into 0 very quickly. Here are the weekend results:

Norwich City 0-3 Southampton (Carrow Road). A clinical second-half performance earned Southampton a 3-0 victory away to Norwich. The Canaries started strong, with Kenny McLean fizzing a shot wide and Josip Drmic's deflected effort going over. But Southampton got better as the game went on and Danny Ings struck the crossbar late in the first half. Ings made no mistake with his next chance, four minutes after breakl, curling a shot beyond Tim Krul to put the Saints in front with his 16th PL goal of the season. Southampton added to their lead five minutes later when Stuart Armstrong sent a low left-footed drive into the bottom corner. Nathan Redmond made it 3-0 with a low strike on 79 minutes as Southampton secured their seventh away win of the season. The Saints move up to 13th with 37 points, while Norwich remain bottom of the table, six points from safety.

Watford 1-1 Leicester (Vicarage Road). A brilliant late goal by Craig Dawson earned Watford a point as they came from behind to draw 1-1 with Leicester City. Watford had the best chance of the first half when Abdoulaye Doucoure's shot was saved by Kasper Schmeichel. Schmeichel saved the Foxes again after the break, brilliantly denying Ismaila Sarr. Soon after Marc Albrighton gave the Foxes their best opportunity of the match when he struck the woodwork. Ben Chilwell thought he had won the contest for Leicester in the 90th minute when his shot left Ben Foster with no chance. But Watford refused to be beaten, and three minutes later Dawson executed an acrobatic volley for his first Premier League goal for the Hornets. The result moves Watford out of the relegation zone into 16th place with 28 points.

Brighton 2-1 Arsenal (Amex Stadium). A stoppage-time strike by Neal Maupay helped Brighton & Hove Albion come from behind to earn a 2-1 win over Arsenal and record their first league victory since December 28. Arsenal started brightly and almost opened the scoring in the 8th minute when Bukayo Saka's shot hit the woodwork.
The Gunners went ahead in the 68th minute, Nicolas Pepe curling a shot beyond Mat Ryan. But Lewis Dunk leveled the game for Brighton seven minutes later from close range. And the Gulls got a winner in the fifth minute of added time when Maupay lifted the ball over substitute goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. The Seagulls are up to 15th place with 32 points, five points clear of the bottom three.

West Ham 0-2 Wolves (London Stadium). Second-half goals from Raul Jimenez and Pedro Neto gave Wolverhampton Wanderers a 2-0 win over West Ham United. Despite the Wolves enjoying plenty of possession in their first match back, the best chance of the first half fell to West Ham's Pablo Fornals, who blazed his volley high and wide. Wolverhampton's introduction of Adama Traore and Neto proved to be the turning point, with Traore crossing for Jimenez to head in on 73 minutes for his 14th goal of the season. Neto scored the second with a thunderous volley past Lukasz Fabianski in the 84th minute to make it seven matches unbeaten for Wolverhampton. West Ham sit 17th on 27 points, ahead of 18th-placed AFC Bournemouth only on goal difference.

Bournemouth 0-2 Crystal Palace (Vitality Stadium). Luka Milivojevic's beautiful free-kick helped Crystal Palace beat AFC Bournemouth 2-0 for a fourth successive victory. Palace took the lead after 12 minutes through Milivojevic's curled beauty. Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson headed over the bar on the other end before Jordan Ayew doubled Palace's advantage on 23 minutes. Nathan Ake headed straight at Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita during the second half but AFC Bournemouth were unable to muster a response. AFC Bournemouth remain 18th on 27 points.

Aston Villa 1-2 Chelsea (Villa Park). Chelsea scored twice in as many minutes to come from behind and beat Aston Villa 2-1 at Villa Park. Villa took the lead in the 43rd minute when Kortney Hause scored from close range, converting a cross by Douglas Luiz. Chelsea responded after the 55th-minute introduction of Christian Pulisic, as the American swept in Cesar Azpilicueta's cross to even the score. Less than two minutes later, Olivier Giroud's deflected shot found the net and quickly turned the match. It was Giroud's ninth goal in seven matches against Villa. Jota flashed a low shot wide late on, but Villa couldn't level the match. Villa remain 19th on 26 points, one point from safety.

Current Relegation Standings:
Club Games Played Points
15. Brighton & Hove Albion 30 32
16. Watford 30 28
17. West Ham 30 27
18. Bournemouth 30 27
19. Aston Villa 30 26
20. Norwich 30 21

The matches will come at us fast and furious this week, as there is EPL action just about every day. Here are the key relegation matches to be played over the next week.

Tuesday:
Leicester City v. Brighton (King Power Stadium, Noon, NBCSN). Leicester beat Brighton 2-0 at the Amex in November.

Tottenham Hotspur v. West Ham (Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, 2:15 pm, NBCSN). Spurs took the first leg of this London Derby with a 3-2 win at London Stadium in November.

Wednesday:
Newcastle v. Aston Villa (St. James Park, Noon, NBC Gold). Villa will be looking for a repeat of their 2-0 win over Newcastle back at Villa Park in November.

Norwich v. Everton (Carrow Road, Noon, NBC Gold). The Canaries claimed a 2-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park in November, and could use a repeat of that performance on Wednesday.

Wolverhampton v. Bournemouth (Molineux Stadium, Noon, NBC Gold). Wolves beat the Cherries 2-1 in November at Vitality Stadium, and the Cherries will need a better result out this time.

Thursday:

Burnley v. Watford (Turf Moor, Noon NBCSN). Burnley destroyed Watford 3-0 at Vicarage Road back in November, so Watford will be looking to avoid another similar defeat.

That will get us through Matchweek 31, with Matchweek 32 beginning next Saturday and spreading out through the week, due to FA Cup ties being held next weekend as well.

Yesterday's Results:
Leicester City 0-0 Brighton (King Power Stadium). Kasper Schmeichel denied Brighton & Hove Albion from the penalty spot but the Seagulls earned a vital point in their battle against relegation with a 0-0 draw at Leicester.
Neal Maupay had the opportunity to put Brighton ahead in the 14th minute but his penalty kick was kept out by Leicester City's goalkeeper. Leicester should have taken the lead in first-half stoppage time, but Caglar Soyuncu guided his header just wide. In the second half James Maddison had Leicester's best chances as he flashed a shot wide and fired a free-kick over the bar. Both teams could only muster 2 shots on target, and Leicester had 66% of the possession, so Brighton will happily travel back to the coast with a point in hand, with which the Gulls climb to 15th on 33 points.

Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 West Ham (Tottenham Hotspur Stadium). Harry Kane marked his 200th Premier League appearance for Tottenham Hotspur with the second goal in a 2-0 win over West Ham United. The Hammers started well but were fortunate Lukasz Fabianski produced a superb save to tip Lucas Moura's shot over in the 22nd minute. Spurs thought they had broke the draw just before half-time, but Son Heung-min's goal was ruled offside following a VAR review. Tottenham did go ahead in the 64th minute when a corner was diverted into the West Ham net by Tomas Soucek. Jarrod Bowen gave the Hammers a chance to equalize but he struck the post in the 78th minute. Tottenham sealed the game in the 82nd minute as Son played in Kane to scorehis 137th PL goal. West Ham remain 17th on 27 points, at least for the night.

Today's Matches:

Yesterday was not a great day for relegation clubs, as only one point was secured by relegation sides in the three matches:

Wednesday Results:
Newcastle 1-1 Aston Villa (St. James Park). Ahmed El Mohamady scored a late goal to earn a 1-1 draw for Aston Villa. Mbwana Samatta headed over for Villa, while Tyrone Mings made a brilliant block to deny Newcastle at the other end. The Magpies did breakthrough in the 68th minute when Dwight Gayle finished into the far corner just 94 seconds after coming off the bench. But with seven minutes remaining, substitutes Conor Hourihane and El Mohamady combined for Villa and claim a vital away point. The Villains remain 19th but are now inside the relegation zone on goal difference alone, having moved level with AFC Bournemouth and West Ham United on 27 points.

Norwich 0-1 Everton (Carrow Road). Michael Keane's second-half goal gave Everton a 1-0 victory at Norwich City, sending the Canaries into a further hole for relegation safety. Dominic Calvert-Lewin had Everton's best chance in the first half, but his header was comfortably saved by Tim Krul. Keane came up with the decisive goal for Everton when he rose highest at the near post to head in Lucas Digne's corner. Norwich City remain at the bottom of the table on 21 points, six points from safety.

Wolverhampton 1-0 Bournemouth (Molineux Stadium). Raul Jimenez netted his 15th Premier League goal of the season as Wolverhampton Wanderers beat AFC Bournemouth. Adama Traore came closest to breaking the deadlock for Wolves in the first half, with his 30-yard strike flying over the crossbar. Jimenez sent the Wolves ahead in the 60th minute when Traore provided a deep cross that Jimenez rose high to head in. Bournemouth never really looked the threat, mustering only 4 shots, none of which were on goal. The Cherries remain 18th on 27 points.

Thursday Key Relegation Match:

Burnley v. Watford (Turf Moor, 12pm, NBCSN). Watford will be looking for vital points today as a victory for the 16th-placed Hornets would put more distance between themselves and the bottom three. Burnley have won four of their seven Premier League matches against Watford and triumphed 3-0 earlier this season at Vicarage Road.
Watford head coach Nigel Pearson has won his last three league trips to Burnley, with Leicester City in 2012/13, 2013/14 and 2014/15. The Hornets are seeking back-to-back league wins at Burnley for the first time since April 2004, when they did so in the second tier.

Current Relegation Standings:

Friday is a break day for the EPL as we prepare for round of 16 matches this weekend for the FA Cup. All our relegation clubs need a break, as they come into the weekend licking their wounds. There are a couple matches this weekend which will have relegation impact, but otherwise a quiet weekend in the EPL.

Thursday Results:

Burnley 1-0 Watford (Turf Moor). Watford will be disappointed to come away with no points as a late goal against the run of play did the Hornets in, losing 1-0 at Turf Moor. Burnley came out strong in the first half, Matej Vydra had hit a post for Burnley and Jay Rodriguez was twice denied by Ben Foster early on before having an effort cleared off the line by Craig Dawson. Watford were the better club for much of the second half, Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope denied Hornets substitute Craig Cathcart before Troy Deeney's goalbound header was cleared by Dwight McNeil. Burnley only had one clear chance in the 2nd, and take the chance they did, with McNeil crossing for Rodriguez to hit a diving header low past Foster. Watford remain 16th on 28 points, one clear of the bottom three.

Current Relegation Standings (After Match week 31):
Club Games Played Points
15. Brighton & Hove Albion 31 33
16. Watford 31 28
17. West Ham 31 27
18. Bournemouth 31 27
19. Aston Villa 31 27
20. Norwich 31 21

Key Weekend Relegation Matches:

Saturday:
Aston Villa v. Wolverhampton Wanderers (Villa Park, 6:30am, NBCSN). Having grabbed a late equalizer at Newcastle United on Wednesday, another draw would take Aston Villa out of the relegation zone. But sixth-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers will come in full of confidence, targeting a third straight win and clean sheet since their return to action as they continue to battle for a top-four spot. Aston Villa have lost just one of their last 14 home matches against Wolves in all competitions and beat their Midlands rivals at Villa Park in the League Cup earlier this season. But the Wolves did beat Villa 2-1 in November at the Molineaux. Wolves have kept six clean sheets in their last seven Premier League matches. Will be a big test for Villa, as they eye a way out of the bottom 3.

Sunday:
Watford v. Southampton (Vicarage Road, 10:30am, NBCSN). No rest for the weary, as Watford will look to bounce back from Thursday night's defeat at Burnley. But the Hornets should have plenty of incentive as they could move four points clear of the bottom three with victory at Vicarage Road. 14th-placed Southampton target back-to-back away wins and a first league double against Watford since the 2011-12 season, as the Saints claimed a 2-1 win over Watford back in November at St. Mary's Stadium. Watford have won four of their last seven Premier League home matches (D2 L1), including victories over Manchester United and Liverpool. Prior to this run, they had gone 12 consecutive top-flight outings without a win at Vicarage Road.

Enjoy the weekend!

The weekend matches gave us a glimpse as to why some of these teams are struggling for safety. Points are really at a premium for our relegation contenders. This might be a real fight to the finish, with any points golden as we go down the stretch. It appears to me that matches with no fans are really favoring the deeper clubs, and the lower teams are missing that push they get from their supporters.

Key Weekend Relegation Matches:

Saturday:
Aston Villa 0-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers (Villa Park). Leander Dendoncker's second-half goal handed Wolverhampton a 1-0 victory in a spirited Midlands derby with Aston Villa, extending their winning streak to three matches. Both teams had chances, with Jack Grealish having the best opportunity for Villa and Wolves coming close before half-time. Adama Traore entered the match in the 60th minute and the substitute was involved in the breakthrough goal two minutes later when Dendoncker scored with a low finish. Villa remain 19th with 27 points.

Sunday:
Watford 1-3 Southampton (Vicarage Road). Danny Ings scored twice as Southampton claimed a 3-1 victory at Vicarage Road, and in the process increased Watford's relegation worries. Ings put the Saints in front in the 16 minute, firing into the bottom-right corner from 20 yards. He then made the score 2-0 in the 70th minute, intercepting Ben Foster's throw before finishing low past the Watford goalkeeper for his 18th goal of the season.
Jan Bednarek's own goal with 11 minutes remaining gave Watford hope of a comeback but that was dashed three minutes later when James Ward-Prowse curled in a free-kick. A run of four matches without a win leaves Watford 16th on 28 points, one point clear of the bottom three, but the Hornets have played a match more than all but one of the four teams below them.

Current Relegation Standings:

17. West Ham 31 27

Match Day 32 Midweek Games:

Today:

Brighton Hove & Albion v. Manchester United (Amex Stadium, 2:15pm NBCSN). Brighton & Hove Albion will aim to frustrate another top-four contender after holding Leicester City to a goalless draw last time out. A win would take the Seagulls nine points clear of the relegation zone. A Manchester United victory would take them back above Wolverhampton Wanderers into fifth, two points behind Chelsea. All five Premier League meetings between these sides have been won by the hosts. It is the most-played PL fixture with the home side winning 100 per cent of the time. Brighton have kept two clean sheets in their last three Premier League matches, as many as they had in their previous 20 in the competition. Man Utd are on a seven-match unbeaten run in the Premier League, which is tied for the longest current streak with Wolverhampton. United claimed a 3-1 victory in November when the clubs met at Old Trafford.

Wednesday:

Arsenal v. Norwich City (Emirates, 12pm, NBCSN). Arsenal, currently in ninth on 43 points, are aiming for a second successive win after beating Southampton 2-0 that would send them up to seventh. Norwich City remain at the foot of the table, six points below 17th-placed West Ham United. Arsenal have only lost one of their eight Premier League home matches against Norwich (W5 D2). Their sole defeat came on the very first day of the Premier League back in August 1992, when the Canaries came from behind to win 4-2 at Highbury. Norwich are the only Premier League side yet to recover a single point from a losing position this season. No team in Premier League history has ever failed to do as such across a full campaign. The Canaries have not won any of their last 21 matches in London since beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in April 2012 and have lost their last seven contests in London. The clubs battled to a 2-2 draw in December when they met at Carrow Road.

Bournemouth v. Newcastle (Vitality Stadium, 12pm, NBC Gold). A first win in seven matches would lift AFC Bournemouth out of the relegation zone. Newcastle United, who lie 14th, are aiming to extend their unbeaten run to five Premier League matches. AFC Bournemouth's total of four clean sheets is the fewest managed by any Premier League side this season. The Cherries are without a win against Newcastle in their last four meetings (D2 L2). They lost the reverse fixture 2-1 in November at St. James Park. Newcastle are aiming to win a second consecutive Premier League away match for the first time since January 2018.

West Ham v. Chelsea (London Stadium, 2:15pm, NBCSN). West Ham United are without a goal or a win in their last three matches, but are aiming to complete a league double over Chelsea. The Blues can strengthen their position in the top four with a fourth successive victory, having beaten Aston Villa and Manchester City since the Premier League resumed. West Ham have lost all three of their home London derbies in the Premier League this season. The 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge in November means West Ham can complete their first league double over Chelsea since 2002/03, a campaign in which the Hammers were relegated. Christian Pulisic has scored seven Premier League goals this season for Chelsea, the most of any player in the competition aged 21 or younger. Chelsea have won their last three Premier League away London derbies.

Should be an entertaining couple of days in the relegation battle!

Bit behind in the scores, this compressed schedule of games is playing heck with my ability to keep up. Here are results from Matchday 32 (midweek games) and Matchday 33 games played over the weekend:

Matchday 32:
Brighton Hove & Albion 0-3 Manchester United
Arsenal 4-0 Norwich City
Bournemouth 1-4 Newcastle
West Ham 3-2 Chelsea

Matchday 33:
Norwich City 0-1 Brighton Hove & Albion
Manchester United 5-2 Bournemouth
Chelsea 3-0 Watford
Newcastle 2-2 West Ham
Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa

Current Relegation Standings (through 33 games):
Club Games Points
15. Brighton & Hove Albion 36
16. West Ham 31
17. Watford 28
18. Aston Villa 27
19. Bournemouth 27
20. Norwich 21

So some clear separation by Brighton and West Ham from the rest of the pack. The bottom 4 are really struggling right now for any points, as I thought might happen coming out of the break. The lack of crowd support really seems to highlight the talent gap between top and bottom teams.

Here is a look at the key matchups for midweek games this week:

Tuesday (today):
Watford v. Norwich City (Vicarage Road, 12pm NBCSN). A "six point" match today as Watford have a big opportunity to move four points clear of the relegation zone, with home advantage against the league's bottom team. Norwich must claim 3 points today to have any hope of saving themselves from relegation. Watford are looking to complete the league double over Norwich for the first time since the 2005/06 Championship campaign, following their 2-0 win at Carrow Road in the reverse fixture. Watford have scored 29 Premier League goals but have an expected goals (xG) total of 39, meaning they have scored 10 fewer than expected based on the quality of their chances. It is the biggest negative difference in the competition this season. Norwich have only lost one of their last four trips to Watford in all competitions, although that defeat came in their last such Premier League visit in December 2015. Huge game today in the relegation battle.

Wednesday:
West Ham v. Burnley (London Stadium, 12pm, NBC Gold). West Ham will be looking to continue their recent run of good form (4 points from last 2 matches) as they host a Burnley club that has gone 2-1-1 for 7 points since the return to play. Burnley have climbed themselves up to 10th in the EPL and the Hammers sit in 16th, 4 points clear of 18th. Burnley claimed a 3-0 win in November when the clubs met at Turf Moor.

Brighton & Hove Albion v. Liverpool (Amex Stadium, 2:15pm, NBCSN). Brighton welcome League champions Liverpool to the south coast, and will hope to continue their recent form, which has seen the Gulls climb 9 points clear of 18th place. Brighton is one win away from really solidifying their spot in next year's EPL (although given the current form of the bottom 4 they probably have already done enough). Liverpool won 2-1 in November when the clubs last met at Anfield and are a perfect 5-0 against Brighton over the last 3 seasons.

Thursday:
Bournemouth v. Tottenham Hotspur (Vitality Stadium, 12pm, NBCSN). The Cherries will welcome Tottenham to the South Coast, desperate to turn around their fortunes and begin to claim points. Bournemouth has lost all 4 matches since the return, being outscored 12-3 in the process. Spurs have gone 2-1-1 since the restart, and are chasing a European spot, with Champions League now seemingly out of reach. Tottenham claimed a 3-2 win back in November when the clubs met in London, and the Cherries must come out looking for points if they have any hope of avoiding relegation.

Aston Villa v. Manchester United (Villa Park, 2:15pm, NBCSN). Villa welcomes Manchester United to the Midlands looking to find a way to escape the bottom 3. Villa have claimed just one point since the restart, and currently sit in the last relegation spot, but just one point behind Watford. United will enter the Midlands full of confidence, as they have gone 3-0-1 since the restart, for 10 points. The Red Devils trail Chelsea by 2 points for the last Champions League position, so they will come in eager to continue their winning ways. Villa did claim a point in a 2-2 draw back when the two sides met at Old Trafford in early December.

Enjoy the games!

Dorm, don't care for Villa much at all. I suffer with Fulham enough.

Bournemouth deserves to get relegated for having a stadium that small.

I know. I'm a stadium snob.

West Ham deserves to be relegated because they left a stadium steeped in history that had a soul for a low-rent sweetheart deal in a stadium that looks like a toilet and socially distances fans from players.

I believe Aston94 has a formal post to make following this morning's results. I'll let him do the honors since it's his thread.

Sorry I am a day or two behind, this EPL Schedule is killing me!

Saturday morning results:

Norwich 0-4 West Ham. (Carrow Road). Norwich City were relegated from the Premier League as Michail Antonio scored all four goals in a huge win for West Ham United. Antonio gave the visitors an 11th-minute lead when he volleyed a shot on a corner. He added a second in first-half stoppage time with a header from Mark Noble's free-kick. Shortly after halftime, Antonio's completed his first career hat-trick when he headed in after his initial effort had been saved by Tim Krul. He then became the first player to score four times in an away match since Harry Kane at Leicester City in April 2017 as he swept home a Ryan Fredericks cross. So the Canaries drop out of the Premier League for a record fifth time, but the win boosts West Ham's chances of safety as they climb six points above the bottom three.

Watford 2-1 Newcastle (Vicarage Road). Troy Deeney scored two penalties as Watford came from behind to beat Newcastle United and boost their hopes of staying up. Newcastle opened the scoring when Matt Ritchie's corner was flicked on by Federico Fernandez for Dwight Gayle to finish. Danny Welbeck looked to have scored, but his effort was pushed on to the post by Martin Dubravka before being cleared off the line by Jamaal Lascelles.
Seven minutes after half-time, Deeney emphatically converted a penalty kick after Kiko Femenia had been brought down. Deeney broke the draw in the 82nd minute when he netted his second penalty kick of the match after a trip on Ismaila Sarr. The result keeps Watford in 17th on 34 points, level with West Ham United, but more importantly raises the Hornets six points clear of the bottom three.

Current Relegation Standings (through 33 games):
Club Games Played Points
15. Brighton & Hove Albion 34 36
16. West Ham 35 34
17. Watford 35 34
18. Bournemouth 34 28
19. Aston Villa 34 27
20. Norwich 35 21

Today's Later Match:

Brighton & Hove Albion v. Manchester City (Amex Stadium, 12pm, NBCSN). Brighton are almost certainly safe, but will keep them in for the weekend at least

Tomorrow's Key Matches:
Both Villa and Bournemouth need wins to keep pace with Watford and West Ham.
Aston Villa v. Crystal Palace (Villa Park, 8:15am, NBCSN).
Bournemouth v. Leicester (Vitality Stadium, 11am, NBCSN).

I mean, if you're going to get relegated, a 4-0 thrashing is the way to do it. Leave no doubt.
