I have no idea if what I've read is accurate, or more some Americans take on Bayern, but Brazzo wants to build around Goretzka and believes he is the most valuable younger piece. There's also been people in Haaland's inner circle pushing him to go to Bayern first before he makes the jump to Real Madrid or EPL, but Brazzo also doesn't want to pay for him.

I am hopeful Kahn isn't afraid to use his voice to push to pay the guys their rightful value

Really think Kimmich, Musiala, and Goretzka together can be part of the best midfield in the world for the next 5 years if we play it right. Throw in Davies and Upamecano and we have a damn good foundation

Whew, the Bayern board is not happy with that statement they put out. Things are getting spicy.

Looks like the Bundesliga (for now) is keeping out of the Super League just established. This will be fun to follow

I kinda hope they stay out of the Super League. Not a fan of the SL at all. Wonder who bends first

I agree, this is fascinating to follow though. I don't know if these clubs that joined would have predicted the backlash that would follow. Hell, Prime Ministers are making statements condemning this to go along with the official fan clubs of all these teams condemning it and saying they will boycott.

Have not seen a single supporter of this move. I'll be very curious what the players will say. I'm surprised no one has made a statement yet

Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says they do not believe Super League will solve the 'financial problems of European clubs that have arisen as result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Rummenigge said: "FC Bayern has not been involved in the plans for creating a Super League. We are convinced that the current structure in football guarantees a reliable foundation.

"FC Bayern welcomes the reforms of the Champions League because we believe they are the right step to take for the development of European football. The modified group stage will contribute to an increase in excitement and the emotional experience in the competition.

"I do not believe the Super League will solve the financial problems of European clubs that have arisen as result of the coronavirus pandemic.

"Rather, all clubs in Europe should work in solidarity to ensure that the cost structure, especially players' salaries and agents' fees, are brought in line with revenues, to make all of European football more rational."

Since Rummenigge's statement didn't specifically say they weren't joining even at a later date, he was asked to clarify. This morning he announced Bayern will not be accepting an invite and won't ever.

Well, Leipzig just lost to Koeln, so barring a complete meltdown, Bayern are locks to win. I just hope we can get our act together for the Pokal and come away with some hardware.

And I gotta admit, I was cheering for Koeln a bit. It was already going to be a slim chance for Leipzig to catch Bayern, and on the other side of the table, Koeln desperately needed points and I hope this can give them confidence to get more points and stay up.

Steilcast thinks Bayern can get Nagelsmann, just depends if they want to "start a war" to get him. The other guy they mentioned to keep an eye on is Klopp. He apparently wants to return to Germany and has grown tired of Liverpool and England. The Super League drama is just the latest thing to make Klopp want to return.

I won't hold my breath on Klopp but I would absolutely love it. Until Flick retires from running the German team and Klopp takes his spot. Rinse. Repeat.

I'm all for Nagelsmann and think it will eventually happen. And I'd also like to see American Jesse Marsch get some great experience and see what he can do.

Marsch takes over RB Leipzig, we take Nagelsmann, wait until Nagelsmann leaves for a record deal, then take Marsch, he wins 20+ trophies before taking over the USMNT and winning a World Cup

Yeah, that works for me!

It's been brewing for awhile. I like the deal at that price... he's got loads of potential; two years ago I liked him better than Upamecano. But he hasn't played much under Nagelsmann due to injury troubles so we learned to live without him. Even after him and Upa leave, we still have solid back 3 in Halstenburg, Orban, Klostermann, and RB Mukiele does well there too. Have a new signing already lined up in Simikan. This is a "I'd rather have the money" deal for me.

Just don't ask me about Sabitzer when that happens. That one might make me cry.

Yeah, looks like Bayern has agreed with Nagelsmann by all accounts. Just need RB to put the good of the bundesliga ahead of their own desires and not demand as much money

Welp, there goes the second domino. Congrats Bayern fans.

Marsch smoke building now. I imagine an announcement will happen there in short order. As much as I like Nagelsmann, I think I might be happier to have all that money and Marsch.

I suppose Flick to DFB will be the last announcement. Rumors I saw said that Bayern were going to make the DFB use Allianz as a site for a certain number of international fixtures as compensation for Flick's release.

Has anyone read Das Reboot by Raphael Honigstein?

I'm reading it right now and it is fascinating. It's about the "reboot" that the German DFB did after the failure of the 2004 Euro's and how they (Klinsmann) completely reformed the way academies, training, and scouting was done in order to get a good team for 2006 for when Germany hosted the World Cup. Ultimately leading to the win in 2014.

It goes pretty deep at how the Bundesliga and DFB was set up and how this change brought about a revamped and exciting Bundesliga and national team. Easy and good read so far. It was written in 2015 and brings up Flick, Tuchel, Low, Klinsmann, Klopp, and other notable names.
