I'd be interested to know who screwed up their marking there. There's no way a kick from the goalie should result in a player cleanly trapping the ball with hardly any pressure

That was pathetic dive.

You have to relieve the pressure. Bomb it forward and make it a track meet. The tic-tac-toe passing out of backline has been awful.

I'm old school, so I love seeing a sweeper on defense (never happens on the pro level), and a rover.

Hoppe is playing as a true rover, mess things up on defense, and go where you can be effective and creative on offense.

Hoppe in this tournament may be our most valuable find for our WorldCup squad...
