I wonder if Barca/Real can threaten to pull a tu/ou and jump to another league. Or if there are big fines and whatnot involved in that.
Pretty sure they tried that and yes there are.
Haha yep. They figured out pretty quick that no club is bigger than their domestic leagues.
I don't mean the super league, I'm talking about leaving and joining the PL, Ligue, or something.
Is there another league that crosses borders? Besides MLS that is. I honestly don't know if that's even possible.
Wales. But that's pretty much it.
It is not an even remote possibility. If the Super League couldn't work this couldn't work even worse.
While I think it is not likely to happen, it's NOT for the same reason super league didn't work. This would be because fans of Barcelona who live in southern Spain can now watch them play against Real Betis rather than fly to England to watch them play. Super league didn't work because A) they also remained in their domestic leagues and the domestic leagues could punish them and B) it was purely a money grab and not a response to them getting "screwed" over (which I have doubts on).
Negative.
You are making an assumption that England would want them and be willing to set the precedent of major clubs moving over to other domestic leagues(Swansea and Cardiff are historical and not relevant to this discussion)
There is no way that would be any more popular than a Super League. Probably less.
It is completely unrealistic.
That's all I got on that.
I don’t say this in a braggedocious way. But it’s true. I’ve been right about everything.
