Good win on the road that was unexpected. LSU has been in a spiral, but so have we so it's still a good result. Getting some players back and Olivieri getting more comfortable without the knee brace helped a lot obviously. I didn't think Pante was very sharp but she did setup a nice goal in the second half. Midfield still really struggled to keep possession in the middle of pitch, consistently losing it when they hesitated. Passes need to be much faster there. Hayes was really good tonight, maybe her best all-around match and she needs to take all our PKs going forward. The trapping was better than I've seen in a while, which really helped on those many long balls forward. Sample made a great save off the line that kept the comfortable lead intact.
A&M is really only short Carroll up top, but I don't think she will return this season, so what we saw tonight is probably the lineup going forward. Having that steady player in Barb really made a huge difference and of course she scored two goals as well. So A&M is back to .500 and with a win over Ole Miss on Sunday can get to 3-3 in SEC play with four matches to go. With an updated RPI of #54 and the Rebels at #4 and last chance at a big RPI win, it would be a huge step toward getting back into contention for an NCAA tourney bid.
