Sure. I'd add that City want Steffen to play minutes and play well and play safe. More eyeballs that see him perform at a high level, the more money they can get for him if they decide to sell him on.

Also, I added this bit after you quoted me - GB may have made a promise of PT to Steffen/City, but if wanted to start Turner to secure a win, he could without big repercussions IMO. This is still GB's call basically.

I agree. But he also knows what level of keeper Zach is and I am sure he feels good with him in goal too.

Some of the reaction to the change is definitely overblown… but also I think many people are preemptively thinking about the blowback if a worst case scenario does occur.

Arriola is for sure going to look gassed out there, right?

I actually like the lineup a lot... Arriola being the only point of contention (and even then, I think he's serviceable with strong workrate). Would rather have Weah at RW... and after that would rather see Hoppe at LW and Aaronson at RW.

But... we get to see the back 4 I've been wanting for a while. And the midfield looks solid.

I don't mind it really.

Antonee and Dest can get forward and are dangerous doing so. Aaronson and Arriola have good defensive workrates and good feel for when to interchange with their backs on the wing. The midfield of Adams, McKennie, and Musah should allow for good forward progressing play, either through their passing or dribbling (in Musah's case).

It's a solid lineup. Arriola will get subbed in the 55th or so for either Weah or Hoppe, if GGG isn't braindead tonight. Although, I expect we'll see Roldan instead... because I'm banking on him sticking to his usual self.



Edit: Of course as I type this Arriola gets replaced. Ha!

Not only a Jamaican crew but AR2 called offside directly on a corner kick a while back. The Referee in that game took the fall for it but she raised the flag and talked the Ref into it. She will be behind play a lot. She's just not fast enough.

We're badly missing Reyna and Pulisic.

I admittedly don't know much about soccer, but the way this team plays is not easy on the eyes. Looks so chaotic with zero fluidity. I have zero expectations when in the attacking 3rd. I don't see our country rallying behind this style of play.
