I seem to remember in the U17 CONCACAF qualifying and then in the U17 World Cup being a huge ball hog and never participating with his teammates. His body language was terrible and it created a sense of disgust on the field. If any of you remember Zlatan's last season for LA Galaxy where he just wandered around the field in a 20-yard circle and flapped his arms when his teammates didn't pass him the ball right at his feet, that was Gio Reyna in the USMNT U17 team. (this same team had Pepi too, who NEVER received the ball from Reyna).
Reyna spent the whole time trying to dribble through 6 defenders and, IIRC, they didn't advance out of the group. They got absolutely demolished by one opponent too. I'll have to look it up. I see less of the ball hog/dribbler in Reyna's game today, but I still see the moping and discouragement. It's sad honestly.
