Sounders up 1-0 with 20 some odd minutes left. Pumas getting their chances, Frei made another huge save. Seattle desperately needs a second goal, I dunno if they can hang on to a one goal lead.

We're getting CONCACAFFED pretty hard. Ref has zero control.

2-0 Seattle!

Absolutely gorgeous goal worked by Roldan, to Morris, to Lodeiro to Ruidiaz. That's huge. Game isn't over yet.

Dadgum it feels good.

Shout out to Obed Vargas, a dang 16 year old kid who got called upon to hold down the midfield after Joao Paulo went down early. He was shaky in distribution, but he and our defense were totally rock solid today. Frei only had to make one save (and it was a huge one).

Best goal of the night:

Great crowd that just bought in from the get go. It helps that they have had a great run of form since being founded of course.

Its just so disappointing that FC Dallas is stuck out in Frisco, becuase there are just an insane amount of people who love soccer/futbol in the metroplex.
I think if they could, they should relocate to a more urban location in Dallas or Fort Worth, thats easily accessible by mass transport. We should have constant sellouts, and the atmosphere IS better this year so far.

The crowds have been great this year. Being second in the league helps, but the new marketing guy is doing an amazing job. Very different feel being an fc dallas fan this season. They spent the pepi money phenomenally and ferreira is on an absolute tear. Lots to look forward to moving forward for this club

Thats good to hear, even though i'm a Sounders fan i really want to see all 3 TX teams thrive and develop awesome cultures and rivalries amongst each other. I want a big fat Texas Triangle of hate that can be mentioned in the same sentence as Cascadia.

Yea, they have definitely been great this year, both in person and on tv.
We've always have those one off games where people show up and are engaged, and the current people in the front office feel a lot more committed to engaging with the supporter groups and trying to improve the in-person atmosphere.

Not sure how they really ever solve being way up in Frisco, but its ultimately up to the fans to engage with the game regardless of where its located.

Some great goals this weekend!

That thing looked like it was still accelerating when it hit the back of the net.

And for your goal of the week:

Am I reading right that there won't be an additional pay level for the MLS programming? Like it'll be included for existing subscribers?

And I'm assuming there will still be some games broadcast on tv as negotiations between Apple and other carriers continue?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. It sounds like maybe you have to pay for a subscription to watch everything, but some matches will be available at no cost.

Quote:

From early 2023 through 2032, fans can get every live MLS match by subscribing to a new MLS streaming service, available exclusively through the Apple TV app.

Quote:

A broad selection of MLS and Leagues Cup matches, including some of the biggest matchups, will also be available at no additional cost to Apple TV+ subscribers, with a limited number of matches available for free.

It's kind of unclear, the wording is that you can subscribe through the app but don't know if they'd be included with AppleTV+. I'm a current Austin STH but not sure if I'll keep them for next season or just pick up individual matches.

And I would think that ESPN/Fox would have at least occasional matches but they're saying every MLS match on Apple, will be interesting to hear the details.
fig96

Yeah, that's the confusing bit. Maybe a selection of matches for AppleTV+ subscribers then all matches for an additional fee?

That's how I interpret it.

-A subscription you have to pay for to watch everything
-Select matches available for AppleTV+ subscribers without having to pay for anything
-Some matches available for everyone, similar to how it is with MLB

But then again, who knows.

I don't think they are. Or at least if they are they haven't said as much yet.

Edit: nevermind - see the tweets below. Mixed bag of changes. Some I like and some I'm not wild about.

Wow. LAFC pulls a fast one. Instead of kowtowing to Vela. They swipe Bale on the down low. And on a non-DP contract.

That's impressive and I really want to see their books.

They're currently at 14.5 million (11th in the league) before accounting for the addition of Chiellini and have 4 rostered players making over 800k (Acosta, Rodriguez, Sanchez, and Vela) with Vela and Rodriguez as DPs. But they somehow still have enough allocation money to get both Chielini and Bale on non-DP deals?

Texas derby match in houston this weekend was insane. Ive been to premier league matches, world cup matches, world cup qualifiers, and i can honestly say that this weekends fcd-houston match was as intense as any of those. Couldve done without the projectile tossing from houston fans but i loved every second of the atmosphere. The sport could use more of that in this country

Seems like the Rivarly has been renewed. It's been a few years since we have really seen the Texas Derby that chippy and heated. Less projectiles would have been nice but it was good to have a true rivalry feel to that game.
