That seems like a weird link/signing. Small sample size of playing time (<500 min in France) for a 23yo but evidentially we were linked back in April but no one realized it...

Winger from Lille? What could go wrong?

I'm hoping this is a false link/report. After doing some digging, even at a cheap fee, I think I would prefer to just keep Nelson. If he was 17yo at his current skill level, I would do it. But at 23, he shouldn't be on our radar.

I don't think the Lille winger was a legit link. Saw several "stories" yesterday showing Zhegrova, his agent and the reporter that tweeted the link being photographed in public together in numerous cities in the last year or so. The idea is that they are all friends and/or working together to hype up the player.

RE Grimaldo, returning to Benfica for another LB is kinda weird but in fairness he has some nice stats and supposedly he may move for under 10m because his contract expires next summer.

I should have left up the transfer rumors to the professionals. Thanks.

He was on a loan to Betis. Wants to go back permanent but they are a little strapped. Likely gets sold by end of the window.

Hell there are 5 guys in the lineup that expect to be gone by September. Bellerin, Mari, Maintained Tiles, Nelson and Pepe.

Is it weird that I've come around to thinking it wouldn't be so bad if nobody could afford Bellerin and he ended up as squad depth at RB?

Every time I see talk of selling Maitland-Niles, I think "oh, wait, wait! He's young, he's got loads of talent, he's a good piece to have around, it'll come together for him soon!"

And then I remember, he's going to turn 25 in about a month and a half.

The thing that gets me about Maitland Niles is it seems most teams that are interested in buying him want him as a RB. Not sure why he doesn't want to serve in a backup role there and potentially as a backup in midfield for us.

He could've played half the season last year while Tomiyasu was out.

All in all, we have a bunch of average players playing with no cohesion and it showed.
