For me, there are too many unknown with Henry for the national team job.

I think all of these points are positives for Henry. And I think his tv personality doesn't reflect his how he is on the field or in the locker room. It's clear that Richards and Carragher have a ball with him on set. And I hear that NYRB teammates LOVED him. Kenny Cooper and Dax McCarty speak very highly of Henry just as a dude before mentioning how great a player he was.deadbq03 said:
I agree he's horrific on TV, but I'm not sure that means he won't be inspiring as a coach.
He's not my favorite choice here, but I would be intrigued. He checks a lot of boxes:
1) Experience in Europe (duh)
2) Experience with MLS (playing and coaching, IIRC)
3) National team coaching experience (asst. for Belgium)
4) Zero USSF cronyism
5) Superstar former player
I think the combo of 4 and 5 will be especially helpful in bringing Reyna back into the fold in a positive way. Mommy and daddy won't be able to influence him one way or the other. Helps bring Pefok back into the fold in a big way (French speaking). Probably helps with Brooks getting back on the squad if he gets his form back.
