Overall thoughts?

A bunch of quality depth played. The only 2 that really stood out that could eventually impact the MNT are Cowell and Slonina, and Morris.

Zendejas makes Arrioloa look tall, and he has something. Would like to see him out of the Mexican league and playing in Spain.

Vasquez scored that nice goal and that can't be overlooked.

Zendejas, if he sticks with the US, would provide a different look as an inverted winger on the right. He definitely has the qualities to be an international caliber player.

Cowell is a phenomenal athlete but needs further refining of his technical skills.

Vasquez is in the mix for the forward spot.

Cowell actually looked better on the ball than he did last summer in u20 Concacaf. He is one that needs to get over to Europe. Not sure he's ready though.

Staying in the MLS he reminds me of Morris. But Morris was at Stanford at his age so there's hope.

It was a far more entertaining game than typical of January friendlies. Nice to see some young talent out there... even if they made young player mistakes, they had good energy and showed some creative flashes.

I thoroughly enjoyed the match, if not the result. We really created lots of chances and let the players show their abilities. We were unfortunate not to get a result, but who really cares about Ws and Ls in a January camp, I just want to see young players getting an opportunity.

Agreed. I like to see who steps up...and like to see us mix some player groups around. A good game is a bonus.

Missed this live but watched the replay on HBO (?!), enjoyed it overall and thought the young guys showed some flashes. I'd like to see Vasquez with the full team sooner than later among others.

Looking forward to tonight.
